Could the Orlando Magic have been hurting from the night before during their 108-86 beating by the Knicks on Wednesday? The previous night, sources spotted the Magic’s Glen “Big Baby” Davis and Jason Richardson partying until the early hours. They started out dining in the private wine room of Philippe New York. Then the pair joined Dwight Howard — who got a shout-out from the DJ on the loudspeaker, spies said — Chris Duhon and Quentin Richardson at Greenhouse during R&B singer Dawn Richard’s EP release party. The players were seen ordering bottles of Champagne and raged in the club until around 3 a.m. New York Post

James had glared at the Orlando bench after hitting a shot. Q-Rich slowed enough that James made contact, and then the 260-pound LeBron rammed his shoulder into Q as they walked down the court, and Q angrily responded. It really should have been a double-technical foul, but refs caught Q retaliating and T’d him up. “I don’t care if you’re The King or whatever,” Richardson laughed. “You put your pants on just like I do. “He still got 27 points, but you have to let him know that he has to fight for them. That it ain’t gonna be a walk in the park.” Orlando Sentinel

“The back has been good,” Richardson said. “I haven’t had any setbacks. I’ve been doing everything, the rehab the whole summer. Like I said, I’ve been working out with the guys, for the most part, with no setbacks. So everything’s been good.” Since July 1, when the NBA lockout went into effect, the Magic athletic-training staff has been prohibited from having any contract with their players, even Richardson and shooting guard J.J. Redick, who also had offseason surgery. That meant Richardson and Redick had to take full responsibility for their recoveries. Redick also has said he’s doing well after his late-May surgery to repair two muscle tears in his lower abdomen. Orlando Sentinel

Orlando Magic players Jameer Nelson, Quentin Richardson and Brandon Bass did something constructive Wednesday to help people who need assistance making ends meet. The trio and former Magic player Keyon Dooling spent part of the afternoon at Northwest Community Center in Orlando donating food and personal-care items to children and their families. The event was sponsored by the Pete and Jameer Nelson Foundation and The Gametyme Foundation. Richardson’s B.F.A.M. Foundation and Bass also contributed. Orlando Sentinel

"It's inconvenient because especially after having surgery you need access to your trainers and all the amenities of your arena and practice facilities to get you back at full strength with whatever your injury may be," he said when asked how the lockout has affected his rehab. "But we all are making adjustments and figuring it out during this lockout. "Not being able to work with our training and strength staff has not slowed my rehab, though. Our staff did a great job getting me situated with my physical therapist before the lockout began. So I got all those things set up for me while we were still able to be in contact with them." Quentin Richardson has been a Jumpman representative since his "Knucklehead" days with Darius Miles as a Los Angeles Clipper back in the early 2000s, Eleven years later, "Q" is still a proud endorser of the Jordan Brand as a member of the Orlando Magic, the fifth team he's played for in his career. Not only does he still proudly endorse the brand, but he's as enthusiastic about sneakers as he's ever been. To show that the good people over at Jordan are still taking care of him, Q-Rich recently took to his Twitter account and showed us some of his Jordan collection. Essentially, he has just about every Jordan Brand shoe released over the last two or three years stuffed in his walk-in closet. The rest of his older goodies are packed away from his various moves or have been given away to friends and family, but check out a ton of photos below to see some of the shoes (and slippers!) he's still holding on to. Richardson also believes the Magic's roster boasts a high skill level and basketball IQ which in turn helps the team pull out victories even though the level of play is sometimes subpar. "I mean if you look around this room we have a lot of talent here," Richardson said to HOOPSWORLD. "That says a lot knowing we've been up and down with our play but we've still been able to win some games even though we've looked pretty at times. That lets you know the level of talent we have in this room." HoopsWorld

As Hawks head coach Drew stated, you can't just 'flip the switch' in the postseason and expect different results. The veteran Richardson is talking the same tune. "Yeah I think we definitely need to go into the playoffs playing well," Richardson said. "I think that's the most important part of this last little stretch; going into the postseason playing well." NBA disciplinary officials have suspended Orlando Magic reserve small forward Quentin Richardson for two games without pay for shoving Gerald Henderson in the face during the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's overtime win over the Toronto Raptors. Richardson will miss Sunday afternoon's home game against the Chicago Bulls and Monday night's road game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Richardson's suspension comes at an inopportune time for the Magic even though the team already has clinched the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference. Orlando Sentinel
