There might be some finds on the summer league roster. Forward Quincy Acy has a team option that must be picked up by Saturday to guarantee his contract for next season. Acy showed he can still be energetic defensively while adding an improved jump shot. For approximately $915,000, the Kings have to seriously consider bringing him back. Sacramento Bee

Barring a major roster shakeup, the Sacramento Kings will be fielding a pretty stacked team in Las Vegas Summer League next month. Quincy Acy will play for the Kings in Vegas according to Kings head coach Michael Malone, who broke the news in an appearance on KHTK Radio yesterday morning. Acy will join Ben McLemore, Ray McCallum, Derrick Williams and potentially the No. 8 pick on the team’s summer league roster. “Summer league is really about player development and opportunity,” Malone said to hosts Keith Brooks and Carmichael Dave. “But you know what? I also want to win. We’re going to have a very talented summer league team and there’s no reason that we shouldn’t be a very competitive team in the Vegas Summer League, which will have over 20 NBA teams represented there.” Cowbell Kingdom

Q: Where is your mind at right now? I imagine it’s half on your new team, and half on your life in Toronto. Quincy Acy: I have a business manager. He’s going to be the one that goes there and handles all of my business and all of that stuff. Right now, my main focus is on learning a new system, watching film. I had to get a physical. I’m just trying to get to know these coaches. I’m back at square one again. It’s nothing new for me. I’m just going to work hard and pick up right where I left off. National Post

Q: How did you find out about the trade? Quincy Acy: I had heard some talk on the bus ride over [from the team’s hotel to the Staples Center, where the Raptors were playing the Lakers on Sunday night]. I first heard Rudy [was involved]. When I got to the bus, I heard Rudy and AG, Aaron [Gray]. And then when I got to the locker room, I heard it was Rudy, Aaron and me. I was like, huh? I texted my agent to ask him what was going on. He said he hadn’t heard it. I told him to make some calls. He made some calls and finally got in touch with Masai [Ujiri], and it was true. I was just kind of stunned, really. National Post
