D.J Augustin is gone at point guard, free agent Ramon Sessions will replace him, and power forward Kris Humphries and center Brendan Haywood could end up Charlotte Bobcats, too. The Bobcats came to terms with Sessions Thursday, then rescinded a $4 million-plus qualifying offer to four-year Bobcat Augustin. That made Augustin an unrestricted free agent, and immediately Augustin signed a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Indiana Pacers. Charlotte Observer

The Dallas Mavericks did not advance discussions with free agent point guard Ramon Sessions over the weekend, however those talks are likely to resume Monday, according to a source close to the situation. The Mavs and Houston Rockets appear to be at the top of Sessions' list because of the possibility of assuming a starting role for either club. ESPN.com

Sessions would have made $4.55 million next season with the Los Angeles Lakers had he not opted out of the final year of his deal. The source said Sessions is seeking to begin negotiations north of that salary, however the 26-year-old, initially looking for the security of a long-term deal, is said to be willing to consider flexibility depending on the situation and details of an offer.
