Rasheed Wallace participated in parts of Knicks practice on Saturday. After the workout, Mike Woodson said the veteran forward is "a ways away" from returning to the floor. Marcus Camby also participated in Saturday's practice. Woodson said Camby is closer to returning than Wallace but he didn't have a definitive timetable for either player's return. "We just hope there won't be any setbacks," Woodson said. ESPN.com |

Not being able to play seems to be hurting Rasheed Wallace more than the stress reaction in his left foot. He doesn't like talking about the injury that's sidelined him for 25 games. But Wallace opened up Wednesday about how much he hates not playing -- something Knicks coach Mike Woodson said could change after the All-Star break. "Sometimes just sitting on the sideline or sitting in the back watching those guys, it's killing me," Wallace said. "It's killing me because I feel like at certain points of the game, 'OK, I could have gotten that rebound,' or 'I would have been able to trap here or do something there.' It's a whole lot of what-ifs and I couldas, shouldas, wouldas. The anxiety kills me because I definitely want to be out there with my soldiers. "It's like, 'OK, you're preparing for war, I'm up here in practice, going through practice and game film and all of that. I'm preparing myself, but guys, I can't get on the airplane and go to war with you.' It kills me. But there's nothing I can do. I just got to let this foot do what it does." Newsday |

The “what ifs” will never be resolved in Washington but the memories remain. When asked what he misses most about his days playing at the Capital Centre in Landover, Wallace said: “Just the enthusiasm of the crowd. The crowd felt the same things that we did. That it was a helluva team and we could’ve did some things. …I think we would’ve went far in the playoffs, because we were big. Unfortunately, I started those games that I did because Web went down. I hate to move into his starting slot like that. But man, we could’ve did a lot of things.” Washington Post |

![]() "Personally, I think Sheed is done for the year," one league source said. But according to the same source, the Knicks -- specifically Mike Woodson -- are not rushing to bring in a new face. "Woody doesn't want to add anyone," the source said. "He was buying more time for Sheed. The Knicks are letting him do it his way." ESPN.com Hunter said he received 102 text messages after he became interim coach. Texters included one of his ex-coaches, Larry Brown, as well as former teammates Rip Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace and Grant Hill. He also talked to Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers and Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson, both former point guards who landed coaching jobs without experience. "He's a guy who doesn't think he knows all of the answers," Jackson said. "He loves the game. He has been around some great minds. He is going to be just fine. I think it's great that he has the opportunity." Yahoo! Sports ![]() Mike Woodson expects Rasheed Wallace to start practicing after the All-Star break. Wallace, 38, has been out since Dec. 15 with a stress reaction in his left foot. The team has listed him as day to day. ESPN.com Woodson also hopes that Marcus Camby, out since Jan. 10 with a left plantar fascia injury, returns to practice after the break. But he is less certain about Camby than he is Wallace. "I don't know about Camby," Woodson said before Monday's game against Detroit. "They'll continue to do their therapy work through the break. I'm hoping to have one of them back. Hopefully Rasheed will be back on the floor." Woodson isn't sure if Wallace will ever be 100 percent healthy this season. ESPN.com |

Woodson said Tyson Chandler (neck) is probable for tonight’s game against the Magic at the Garden, but Rasheed Wallace (left foot) didn’t practice with his return date unclear. “I don’t know if he and [Marcus] Camby will be back before the All-Star break. If not, we can handle our business up until All-Star break, and use that as time to rest and give them a little more time, get healthy,’’ Woodson said. “When they come back, I want them to be healthy for the stretch run.’’ New York Post |

Jared Zwerling: No update on Rasheed Wallace. Some players say they're not sure, or are they just keeping quiet? Unclear about his health situation. #Knicks Twitter @JaredZwerling The Detroit Pistons had the chance to draft Anthony in 2003 but instead used the second overall pick on Darko Milicic, who was drafted after LeBron James and before Anthony, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Milicic won a title as a rookie but played sparingly. He never lived up to his pre-draft hype and the Pistons’ demise was accelerated because of it. “That’s a big what if,” Wallace said of the Pistons not drafting Anthony. “It was possible. They went with who they went with. That’s the best I can say about.” Asked if two or three titles would have been possible had the club selected Anthony second overall, Wallace said: “Hell yeah, with the squad we had. We were running the East for six years. But it just wasn’t in the cards for us.” New York Daily News |

Even if he might miss the rest of the season, I hope Rasheed Wallace keeps hanging around the Knicks so we can get little moments like this, where he just quickly walks behind Kyle Singler and yells “North Carolina!” because he bleeds Carolina blue and can’t let a Duke player enjoy his time in the spotlight. Just the best. The Score STAT concedes he has not undergone a magical transformation into the extra defensive juggernaut the Knicks need to compensate for the loss of Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace. However, he is feeling more comfortable in an offensive system which no longer singles him out as a primary focus. “It’s coming,” he stated. “It will just take more repetition, more experience, more practice. Offensively I’m definitely improving for sure and my main goal so far this season is to get better defensively so I’ll keep working on that. “The timing’s definitely coming back. I feel just as good as I was before I was out with the injury. As far as timing, as far as explosiveness, I feel healthy and that’s definitely a positive. I think the minutes gradually improving is helping that recovery.” ESPN.com |
