![]() Warriors restricted free-agent swingman Reggie Williams used his Twitter account Monday to confirm reports that he had signed a deal to play with Caja Laboral Vitoria of the Spanish ACB League. Stephen Curry and Dorell Wright have expressed interest in playing overseas, and agent Bill Duffy said Saturday that Andris Biedrins will start exploring offers next month. San Francisco Chronicle Caja Laboral announced the arrival of Reggie Williams for the upcoming season with an NBA out. The guard, who is restricted free agent, will earn $1.5M per season with the Basque team. ![]() Golden State Warriors free-agent forward Reggie Williams has signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with Caja Laboral Vitoria of the Spanish ACB League, Williams’ agent told Yahoo! Sports. The deal includes a $1 million buyout if Williams wants to return to the NBA this season. Under the NBA’s previous collective bargaining agreement, NBA teams could contribute up to $500,000 to buy out a player’s overseas contract. Yahoo! Sports “While Reggie’s dream of playing in the NBA is our primary focus, we think playing in the ACB will put him in a situation to be a sought-after free agent upon his return from Spain,” said Ron Shade, who represents Williams along with agent Herb Rudoy. ![]() (Reggie) Williams is on the books for $762,195 this season and will be a restricted free agent next summer if the Warriors make him a Qualifying Offer by June 30th. With the scoring punch he's provided the Warriors since being called up from the D-League last March he'll undoubtedly be in store for a substantial raise and be a highly sought after prospect. However Williams' first choice is to remain with the franchise that took a roll of the dice to give him a roster spot. "Yeah definitely," said Williams. "I love the Bay Area, I love the fans, I like my team and I'm used to the system." HoopsWorld "I would love to be in Golden State," continued Williams. "But you never know what happens in the offseason. The offseason is crazy from what I learned last summer. So we'll just have to see. "That's something you'll have to ask me again after the season," finished Williams with a laugh. HoopsWorld |

Warriors swingman Reggie Williams woke up from his nap at 6 p.m. Thursday to a phone going off relentlessly. He logged on to Twitter and saw the news about coach Don Nelson being replaced assistant Keith Smart. He still hasn't recovered. "It's crazy to me," Williams said. "I came in under Nelson. I just don't know what to say. It hit me by surprise. I'm just so happy to be a part of (Nelson's all-time NBA wins record)." San Jose Mercury-News |
