The question in the coming days and weeks will be whether there's any chance of the Cavs pulling off the seemingly-impossible free agency coup: landing LeBron James. Again. James' most recent maneuverings have led many around the league to believe he'll re-sign with Miami, but the Cavaliers are likely to speak with his agent, Rich Paul, about a possible reunion that seemed so unlikely when he left on the worst of terms via free agency in the summer of 2010. James is not currently planning on being present in the initial meetings with teams that are recruiting him, a person with knowledge of his situation told USA TODAY Sports. Instead, his agent and longtime friend, Rich Paul of Klutch Sports, is expected to handle the early conversations before James decides how to proceed. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the process. USA Today Sports

The Suns are aware that landing James, let alone James and another superstar, is unlikely in Phoenix but their work with Bledsoe through his first season as a starter and a knee surgery and rehabilitation process has given them a relationship with Rich Paul, the agent for Bledsoe and James. Since Bledsoe played at Kentucky, he has developed a brotherly bond with James. Arizona Republic

LeBron James' agent, Richie Paul, has informed the Miami Heat that James will exercise his early termination option and become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Opting out does not mean James has decided to leave the Heat, a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press, who spoke on condition of anonymity because neither the four-time NBA MVP nor the team had made any public announcement. LeBron James' agent, Rich Paul, has informed the Miami Heat of his client's decision to exercise the early termination option on his contract and become a free agent on July 1. Paul confirmed the decision via text message to USA TODAY Sports. While James may ultimately return to Miami on a new deal, the pressure is now squarely on Heat president Pat Riley to win the recruiting war for James' services again like he did in the summer of 2010. James was set to earn $20.5 million next season on the contract that could have gone through 2016 (player option worth $22.1 million). USA Today Sports

Most times, James' inner circle moves easily through the corridors and news conferences where rival agents are rarely, if ever, credentialed in the NBA Finals. In the regular season and playoffs, you'll see star agents with the run of arenas, but never with league-issued passes. There are benefits to working with the King, and perhaps that's why Paul seemed so perplexed when a dutiful arena guard wouldn't let him into his client's news conference late Sunday. Yahoo! Sports

"I'm LeBron James' agent," Rich Paul told the security woman. She looked at his credential. She looked at him. She shrugged. "I'm LeBron James' agent," Paul said again. "What don't you understand about that? She told him simply that his credential didn't allow access into the news conference. She didn't seem confused, nor doubting of his fancy job. This was a news conference, and he didn't seem to be a reporter, nor a team official. Yahoo! Sports

Kansas freshman pheonom Andrew Wiggins announced today that he will declare for the NBA Draft. The 6-8 athletic forward is a potential No. 1 overall draft pick. According to league sources, Wiggins is in the process of choosing between Hip Hop mogul Jay-Z's Roc Nation and one other unknown agency for player representation. Rich Paul, LeBron James’ agent, was rumored to be in the mix but we were informed Paul never recruited the forward. CSNNW.com

In order for LeBron to entertain the idea of some day returning to Cleveland, Grant had to repair that relationship. That’s what made the Yahoo Sports story a few weeks ago misguided. Grant was portrayed in it as the scapegoat, the bumbling general manager who missed on so many top picks in the draft and squandered away any chance at James returning. In truth, Grant’s relationship with Paul was the launching point to any reasonable thought about James ever coming home. Akron Beacon Journal
