In Chicago, prospects will be measured, weighed and put through shooting and agility drills but will not play 5-on-5 games. Teams will also get a chance to interview players and set up visits to their respective cities. In order to prepare Ricky Ledo for the most important stretch of basketball in his life, he is working in Houston with legendary trainer/life coach John Lucas. Providence Journal Lucas also runs a pre-draft workout group. Last year’s group included 16 of the 60 players that were selected. Among the players working with Ledo in Houston are Solomon Hill (Arizona), Zeke Marshall (Akron) and Elston Turner (Texas A&M). Lucas says what he does is tell talented, young players what they don’t want to hear. Providence Journal That remains to be seen. Asked whether Ledo can be a first-round pick, Lucas says he “gets three calls a day from teams” on Ledo and adds, “Is he game ready now? No. Should you draft him and work with him? Providence freshman guard Ricky Ledo is entering the NBA draft. Ledo, a Providence native, said Tuesday he “felt he could not pass up this opportunity to enter the NBA draft now.” “I want to thank Providence College for the opportunity to be a Friar,” Ledo said. “I had a great experience this season and will always remember the great atmosphere for our games at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center. I love my teammates and I will always be a Friar.” Washington Post Ricky Ledo will be leaving Providence College to enter this June's NBA draft, the Providence Journal has learned. "I want to thank Providence College for the opportunity to be a Friar," Ledo said this afternoon in a news release issued by the school. "As much as I wanted to play for the Friars and help the team win a BIG EAST championship, I felt I could not pass up this opportunity to enter the NBA Draft now. I had a great experience this season and will always remember the great atmosphere for our games at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. I appreciate all the support from the College, the fans, my teammates and the coaching staff, especially Coach Cooley. I love my teammates and I will always be a Friar." Ledo, who is a partial qualifier at PC and restricted to only practicing with the basketball team, says he's working on his game and planning on returning for his sophomore year at PC. However that is not a sure thing, according to a story in Sunday's Journal. "My status is unclear," he said. "College is a great preparation for life and college has already taught me a lot.
