Price added he “absolutely” would remain interested in staying with the Lakers even as a third-string point guard. The Lakers appear invested in developing rookie guard Jordan Clarkson and could also upgrade the position through free agency (Rajon Rondo, Goran Dragic) or through the NBA Draft. Price also added he would like more stability after having various stops in Sacramento (2005-07), Utah (2007-11), Phoenix (2011-12), Portland (2012-13) and Orlando (2013-14). “I would love to have a chance to play for Byron Scott again. I respect him as a coach and respect his leadership,” said Price, who joined the Lakers this season on a one-year, non-guaranteed deal worth $1.3 million. “Byron stayed consistent throughout the entire year as far as what he expects from us, what he wants us to do on the floor and how we’re supposed to approach the game.” Los Angeles Daily News

Consider the feeling mutual. “He’s definitely a guy we’ll consider,” Scott said of Price before the Lakers played the Golden State Warriors on Monday night at Oracle Arena. “He showed he can play and he is a type of guy you want on a team. But we have to see what we do in the draft and free agent market.” Los Angeles Daily News

Price will have his nose examined on Tuesday, but he is expected to play in Wednesday’s designated road game against the Clippers at Staples Center. Price also remained adamant he would not wear a mask to protect his nose, something that Lakers forward Ed Davis has currently done after breaking his nose in Friday’s loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.
