The Indiana Pacers announced Monday they have re-signed free agent Sam Young. Per club policy, terms of the contracts are not released. The Pacers originally signed Young on Sept. 12, 2012 and waived him on Jan. 6, 2013. He played 28 games with the Pacers, averaging 3.6 points and 2.9 rebounds. NBA.com

The Grizzlies traded swingman Sam Young to the Philadelphia 76ers this morning for the rights to 2005 second-round pick Ricky Sanchez. Young was not in the Grizzlies’ rotation and requested a trade. The move helped both parties. Memphis moved below the NBA’s luxury-tax threshold by getting rid of Young’s $948,000 salary. Sanchez, who is playing in Argentina, will never wear a Grizzlies uniform.
