"It all depends on me," says Scoop, " if I'm ready to play right away I'm going to do the training camp with the team, I think that's about a month. If I'm (not ready) I'm just going to rehab down there and work out with the team, whatever they want me to do." CNYCentral.com Scoop Jardine, who is still wheeling around with no pressure on his right foot, hopes to be able to start walking and swimming around the 22nd of August. He says there's already been a lot of interest from NBA teams, including the Charlotte Bobcats who have invited him to their training camp. CNYCentral.com |

The former Neumann-Goretti and Syracuse guard was scheduled for surgery Tuesday in Los Angeles after breaking his right foot during a workout with the Utah Jazz last Friday, his final workout scheduled before Thursday's NBA draft. Philadelphia Inquirer Rehab is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks, and he is hopeful to return in late August or early September. The former Neumann-Goretti and Syracuse guard was scheduled for surgery Tuesday in Los Angeles after breaking his right foot during a workout with the Utah Jazz last Friday, his final workout scheduled before Thursday’s NBA draft. Jardine, already a long shot to be drafted, landed on the foot of Mississippi State guard Dee Bost. “I came down and it just popped,’’ Jardine told the Syracuse Post-Standard. “I tried to finish the workout and I couldn’t put any pressure on it. They shut me down.’’ Philadelphia Inquirer Rehab is expected to take 6 to 8 weeks and he is hopeful to return in late August or early September. “Right now, I’m turning a lot of heads,” he (Scoop Jardine) said. “My stock is really rising since the workouts started. My dream is just to be drafted. I don’t know where but I’m very confident I’m going to be drafted come June 28.” CSNPhilly.com “He brings for Coach Collins that defensive mentality – defense first,” Witte said. “He pressures the ball. He’s got long length. He’s relentless. He’s really tough mentally and a physical-type player.” CSNPhilly.com The Sixers front office already knew a lot about the Philly kid coming in, but seemed to be impressed with Jardine’s hour-long workout – especially with his energy. Afterwards, Philadelphia’s director of player personnel, Courtney Witte, called him a “junkyard dog” who might fit in well in head coach Doug Collins’ system. CSNPhilly.com |

For good luck, Scoop Jardine placed his belongings by Jeremy Lin's locker in Westchester before his workout. Scoop said delivering passes to fellow Syracuse standout Carmelo Anthony would be "the easiest job in the world.'' Says Melo texted him often this season as Syracuse soared atop rankings. Hoping #Knicks pick him at 48 and feels did real well in his matchup with Tu Holloway today. Sulia Here’s the scoop: Selecting at No. 45 in next month’s NBA Draft, the Knicks aren’t going to find a point guard on par with Jeremy Lin. But the Knicks are sure going to see if 6-foot-2 Syracuse point guard Scoop Jardine can give them depth at a position in which the cupboard is virtually bare. New York Post |

Basketball agent Terrance Doyle graduated high school in 2002, which means he is likely still in his 20s. But you would not be able to tell based on the client list he is amassing. Doyle and his company Veritas Venture Group represent Orlando Magic guard Von Wafer, along with quite a few D-League and international players. They have also picked up a couple of recent student-athletes, including Syracuse’s Scoop Jardine and most recently Mississippi State Junior forward Arnett Moultrie. Sports Agent Blog |
