![]() Agent Tolga Tugsavul refuted reports that his client Semih Erden has agreed to a deal in Turkey and said his wish is to stay in the NBA. "Everything will be more clear after the first week of July," Tugsavul told HoopsHype. "He has some interest from teams in the NBA and then we have very good offers from Europe, from three of four teams that I don't want to mention. We will make a decision, I believe, by mid- July. His first option is to play in the NBA, but it all depends on the contract and the coach." HoopsHype "I don't know about Spain because we have a very good offer from Turkey and then we will also check the market with CSKA Moscow, see what happens with (Nenad) Krstic there. Right now it's very hard to get a big contract in Spain, so I don't see a big possibility for Semih there." HoopsHype |

NBA teams have until June 30 to tender qualifying offers to potential restricted free agents. The Cavs have three such players in center Semih Erden and forwards Alonzo Gee and Luke Harangody. They'll definitely give Gee a qualifying offer. He said he wants to return to the Cavs. Erden didn't sparkle last season and at times, he sat on the bench for long periods. He's still a 7-footer with skills. News-Herald When asked about Erden recently, Cavs general manager Chris Grant said no decision has been made. They'll likely give him a qualifying offer. It's worth $1.1 million. This is purely a guess, but the Cavs probably won't give Harangody a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent. News-Herald |

Scott said he hasn't reached a decision on whether he wants injured center Semih Erden (ankle) to return for next season. Obviously, that's something he must discuss with General Manager Chris Grant. The Cavs would have to extend a qualifying offer of about $1.1 million or risk losing the 7-foot Turk to unrestricted free agency. "I don't know yet," Scott said. "And, I'm just being honest with you." Cleveland Plain Dealer |

![]() In the preseason, coach Byron Scott hinted that Semih Erden could become a starter once his thumb healed and if he played well. The Turk is healthy, but hardly playing well. Scott has not played him in the past four games, including Sunday's win in Boston. Samardo Samuels and Ryan Hollins are being used ahead of him. Scott had planned to evaluate Erden for 10 games in the rotation, starting with Jan. 10 contest in Utah. The trial lasted just seven games. "I lied," Scott said. "I did kind of lie on that one. . . . I think I gave him a fair chance. I was a little disappointed. I'm hoping these three games he hasn't played gets in his head and when he gets another opportunity he takes advantage of it." Cleveland Plain Dealer Erden is averaging 3.4 points and 2.1 rebounds in eight games. He scored 14 of his 27 points in one game against Golden State. "If he plays hard every single night he has a chance to be a good player," Scott said. "It's an energy and effort thing. He has to play a lot harder." Cleveland Plain Dealer |
