The Memphis Grizzlies signed guard Seth Curry of the NBA Development League’s Santa Cruz Warriors, the team announced today. Curry (6-1, 180) comes to Memphis after averaging 21.3 points, 3.5 rebounds, 7.8 assists and 1.58 steals on .439 shooting in 37.3 minutes in 12 games (11 starts) for Santa Cruz this season. The 23-year-old ranks 10th in the D-League in scoring and second in assists per game. He has scored 20-or-more points seven times, including a career-high 36 in his D-League debut on Nov. 22 vs. Austin, and has recorded three double-doubles. NBA.com

He said he likes it in Santa Cruz. It isn’t your stereotypical D-League atmosphere at Kaiser Arena. It feels much more like a college game, and the loud, packed house seems to love Curry. But while he is hoping it’s just a pit stop, he said embracing the opportunity is what’s best. “I’ve just got to go out and focus on playing the same way I would (in the NBA),” Seth Curry said. “Just be aggressive. I can’t go out there thinking I’ve got to kill just to show everybody, prove everybody wrong. I just have to go out there, stay calm and play. I think I can do a good job of that. The Golden State Warriors have waived guard Seth Curry, center Dewayne Dedmon and forward Joe Alexander. The team announced the moves Friday, a day after finishing the preseason. All three are expected to land on the Santa Cruz Warriors of the NBA Development League. ESPN.com

Even if Dedmon doesn’t make the team now, he’ll play for the Warriors in Santa Cruz. He is one of three players who have already agreed to be affiliate players should they not make the team. League rules allow teams to designate up to three non-roster players from training camp. That prevents other teams from poaching them away. Dedmon, Seth Curry and Joe Alexander have already agreed to the designation should they not make the roster. Contra Costa Times

Though the Warriors essentially let the 87ers take Hobson away, they could have, nevertheless, still invited him to NBA training camp had they wanted to. Instead, RidiculousUpside.com has learned exclusively that two of his Santa Cruz teammates (Cameron Jones and Scott Machado) are expected to be in camp instead. What's more, Stephen Curry's little brother, Seth, is expected to be in town for that as well. Needless to say, Hobson wasn't at all too pleased about that. Ridiculous Upside
