Atlantic City plans to bring a $75 million development project, including a movie theater and supermarket, to a neighborhood near the Revel and Showboat casinos. The project would be backed in part by former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal and a development company with which he has partnered, both sides said in a news release issued Thursday. The City Council approved the plan Wednesday night involving Boraie (Bo-RAY') Development for the south Inlet neighborhood. It will include a Shaq Cityplex movie theater, as well as homes, shops and offices. O'Neal says when the project is done, "visitors will see what my team's vision is for Atlantic City and our commitment to the urban center." Newark Star-Ledger

Like many of us, Kendrick Perkins was watching TNT on Monday night, enjoying two of the better games these NBA Playoffs have offered up. Chicago shocked Miami and the Warriors collapsed in San Antonio, with the Inside the NBA crew there to talk about all of it. But, like most nights on this laid-back studio show, conversation shifted from current events. Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley started joking around. Then Shaq started talking about himself. You know, the usual. Shaq loving himself some Shaq. Oklahoman

But this time, for whatever reason, dedicated viewer Kendrick Perkins seemed to grow tired of it: "Do Shack ever stop talking about himself. SMH" Oklahoman

Jason Collins: I'm not afraid to take on any opponent. I love playing against the best. Though Shaquille O'Neal is a Hall of Famer, I never shirked from the challenge of trying to frustrate the heck out of him. (Note to Shaq: My flopping has nothing to do with being gay.) My mouthpiece is in, and my wrists are taped. Go ahead, take a swing -- I'll get up. I hate to say it, and I'm not proud of it, but I once fouled a player so hard that he had to leave the arena on a stretcher. SI.com

The Orlando Magic are one of the youngest franchises in the NBA, which is a little hard to believe. They've made the NBA Finals twice, and featured some of the best and most iconic players of the past three decades: Shaquille O'Neal, Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill, Tracy McGrady, and Dwight Howard. And yet, the team is only coming up on its 25th anniversary next season. With that in mind, the Magic have unveiled a new logo to commemorate a quarter century of basketball. "This new look provides us an opportunity to reflect on where we've been and look forward to where we are headed," team CEO Alex Martins said in a press release. "Our silver season logo signifies the history we are creating each day—every game, every play, every moment really is history in the making." USA Today Sports

Shaquille O'Neal is famous for his big mouth, but is it bigger than Jimmy Kimmel's? Shaq is getting his number retired by the Los Angeles Lakers tonight, and when he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live on Monday, he was presented a special challenge. The talk-show host challenged the Big Diesel to something called a Peep-off, to see how many of the marshmallow Easter candies the two could fit in their mouths. The results may surprise you. With time healing all wounds, Kobe Bryant's eyes lit up surrounding Shaquille O'Neal's jersey retirement ceremony when the Lakers (38-36) play tonight against the Dallas Mavericks (36-37) at Staples Center. "It's going to be great," Bryant said following the Lakers' win Saturday over the Kings. "It's well-deserved, beyond well- deserved. I'm very very happy for him and proud of him."
