Marc Berman: Shawne Williams mulling #Knicks offer tonight. Told his ego was bruised with all the Jamal Crawford talk last few days. Twitter

It’s down to either Jamal Crawford, Shawne Williams and a new name on their list, Maurice Evans, for the Knicks’ $2.5 million exception. Have the Knicks been used in Crawford negotiations to drive up other bidders? They will find out today, when Crawford makes his decision. He has much-stronger offers from Sacramento and Portland, near his hometown Seattle. New York Post

After Crawford, the Knicks likely would turn their attention to their own free agent, Shawne Williams. The versatile forward, who mastered the corner three-pointer last season, has a one-year offer for the veteran's minimum on the table but is hoping the Knicks will give him more. He has a multiyear offer from the Nets, and interest from a few other teams. Newsday

If the Knicks want to sign Shawne Williams, they may only have two more days -- at most -- to make their pitch. Williams' agent Happy Walters told ESPNNewYork.com by phone Monday that he expects Williams to commit to a team by Wednesday. The free-agent forward had a breakout season in New York last year. Walters has been in contact with the Knicks in recent days. "They know where we stand we know where we stand," he said. ESPN.com

Meanwhile, the Knicks are also monitoring free agent small forward Shawne Williams, as they could use a 3-point shooter off the bench. Williams, a Knicks revelation last season, has been offered the $2.5 million exception but has better offers. The Knicks also are still interested in small forward Anthony Parker for that exception. Free-agent forward Shawne Williams, who had a career renaissance with the Knicks last season and became a reliable defender and three-point shooter, was considering several multiyear offers -- including one from the Nets -- along with an offer from the Knicks for the NBA's new two-year, $5-million "room exception.'' "I know he's got some interest elsewhere and he's looking, as he should,'' Mike D'Antoni said. "Right now I know he's taking care of the business end, and hopefully it works out and he comes back to us.'' Newsday
