Nets rookie Jordan Williams took an elbow in the head from Pacers center Roy Hibbert and suffered what was called a mild concussion. He was around by the end of the night. Shelden Williams, however, who suffered a right eye injury, was not. Shelden Williams was sent to Hackensack University Medical Center for further examinations, and the Nets sounded ominous about his status. “We haven’t received an update on Shelden,” said coach Avery Johnson, who was hoping to hear some news Wednesday night. “Jordan had a mild — really mild — concussion, so we took him out for observations. We think he’s going to be OK. … [But] we’re really concerned about Shelden.” New York Post

Shelden Williams, most recently with the New York Knicks, is also working out in Santa Monica. The lockout doesn't seem to be a worry for the former Duke Blue Devil. "I finally get family time so I can't complain," said Williams. "Honestly, I'm not even thinking about [the lockout]." His daughter Lailaa (with wife and WNBA star Candace Parker) turned two in May. Williams hopes at some point to add a sibling but he and Parker have yet to work out the timing. "We're going to add to the family but we have to plan it," said Sheldon. "My wife is playing in the summer time and she can't take off too much time. It has to be strategic." HoopsWorld

Anthony will sign the contract extension to complete the deal, which sends four players and three draft picks to Denver in exchange for Melo, point guard Chauncey Billups and reserves Anthony Carter, Shelden Williams and Renaldo Balkman. Denver Post

The Nets and Nuggets are discussing a deal that would send Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Melvin Ely, Renaldo Balkman and Shelden Williams to the Nets for Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, Troy Murphy, Ben Uzoh and four first-round draft picks, a league source with knowledge of the talks told Yahoo! Sports on Thursday night. Now, the pressure could be back on the New York Knicks to sweeten their offer and get Anthony before the Feb. 24 trade deadline. Knicks president Donnie Walsh has seemed willing to let Anthony go into free agency, when New York can try to sign him in the summer. The Knicks and Nuggets have negotiated steadily in recent weeks, but Denver has been frustrated with New York’s reluctance to part with key young players in a deal. Yahoo! Sports
