I’m not hearing any recent talk about trading (Steve) Blake, and the fact that Nash will need to play fewer minutes to be effective spells more time for Blake. If they do elect to trade him, there will be takers, especially as injuries occur over the course of the season, but right now I don’t believe they are actively shopping him. HoopsWorld

The Lakers revisited talks to acquire Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley on Wednesday, multiple league sources told ESPNLosAngeles.com. Several variations of the trade have been discussed. One would land Beasley on the Lakers in a three-team deal that would send Portland Trail Blazers guard Jamal Crawford to the Wolves and Luke Ridnour from Minnesota to Portland. Los Angeles would give up one of its two 2012 first-round draft picks in the deal and use its $8.9 million trade exception, acquired when it traded Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks in December, to absorb Beasley's approximate $6.3 million salary. Portland would also receive the Lakers' first-round pick. As of late Wednesday night no deal was completed, but a source familiar with the negotiations said, "the sides have momentum." ESPN.com

The Lakers are still trying to acquire Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley before the Thursday trade deadline. A person familiar with the situation confirmed they were close to a deal for Beasley after trying to involve Portland as a third team. "They're pushing for it," said the source, who requested anonymity because he was not authorized to comment publicly. Los Angeles Times

In one scenario, Lakers back-up point guard Steve Blake would be sent to Portland. The Trail Blazers would then deal Jamal Crawford to Minnesota. A draft pick and another lesser player might be involved as well. "I'm still here," Blake said in the Lakers' locker room before their game Wednesday against New Orleans. "I'm just getting dressed and ready for the game." Los Angeles Times
