Brett Brown said he “personally” would be disappointed if Joel Embiid didn’t play in the summer league. “Personally, I expect him to play in the summer league,” Brown said. “But if I guessed any of this wrong, I want to make sure that the club is on record not being definitive. We are not in the position to say that now.” Brown raised a few eyebrows Wednesday when he would not commit on whether the 7-foot rookie center would play this summer. Embiid has missed the entire season as he recovers from right foot surgery. Brown continues to say that former Kansas standout is making progress. Philadelphia Inquirer

I spoke with him at length before the Raptors game. He’s going to spend most of the offseason here in Charlotte, play in Orlando’s Summer League and then spend time working out in Los Angeles with other NBA players. He said that he’s going to work on all aspects of his game. I asked him if he is more comfortable playing outside or inside, and he categorically said “outside.” He said like a “3/4” (small forward/power forward hybrid) but can play the post as well. His favorite 3-point location is from up top (where he hit one last night). He also enjoys the right corner on those deep shots. NBA.com
