The Hawks recently announced that the guard/forward will miss the next six to eight weeks with a right calf strain suffered 2:21 into Friday’s game against the Trail Blazers. An MRI exam confirmed the diagnosis. Sefolosha told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution Wednesday that he heard a ‘pop’ when he injured the calf. He said the injury occurred when landed after a jump and that there was nothing out of the ordinary on the play. Sefolosha described the strain as a Grade III. Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Forward Thabo Sefolosha suffered a right calf strain against the Portland Trail Blazers last night. An MRI and examination taken today at the Peachtree Orthopaedic Clinic confirmed the calf strain. The expected recovery time is approximately six-to-eight weeks and his status will be updated as appropriate. NBA.com

The Wizards met on Wednesday with free agent swingman Thabo Sefolosha at Verizon Center, multiple people with knowledge of the situation have confirmed. Sefolosha, who started the past five seasons in Oklahoma City, was spotted in attendance at a Mystics game, setting off speculation about his reasons for being in town. It was later revealed that the 29-year-old Sefolosha wasn’t hanging around simply as a WNBA fan. Washington Post
