![]() Thomas Robinson, you’re a rookie so let me help you out here — the check for that fine that is coming can be made out just to the NBA. And there is certainly at least a fine coming — and likely a suspension — for Robinson following his uncalled for and nasty elbow to the neck of Detroit’s Jonas Jerebko. When you watch the replay there is a little contact but nothing out of the ordinary for an NBA possession — Robinson was trying to get Jerebko off him and the Piston responded putting his hands on Robinson’s hips and trying to slide past him into position. Robinson responds with an elbow to the neck. NBCSports.com Jon Santiago: Jonas Jerebko told reporters postgame that the Thomas Robinson elbow was just "in the heat of the game". The NBA is a fraternity. And just like any brotherhood, new members earn their stripes through a little bit of hazing. Jason Thompson went through it. Jimmer Fredette went through it. And this year, Thomas Robinson is no exception. At last night’s open practice at Sleep Train Arena, the rookie power forward was forced to showcase his vocal talents for the fans in attendance. Fortunately for him, he had a little help from teammate Tyler Honeycutt. Cowbell Kingdom |

Thomas Robinson continues to display a high level of energy while on the court. He believes that its his role to irritate the opposition with his intensity. “I think that’s my whole job – to annoy the other guy to the point that he just doesn’t want to check me no more,” the rookie forward said following practice. He doesn’t get distracted when opposing players voice their frustration with his style of play. The Kansas forward says he just continues to play his game. “It’s really not my job to care what they think or say,” Robinson said stoically. “That’s something they gotta deal with.” Cowbell Kingdom |

Don't rule out Thomas Robinson seeing time at small forward during the preseason. During one 5-on-5 session, Robinson was the small forward with Chuck Hayes and DeMarcus Cousins the other frontcourt players. Jimmer Fredette and Marcus Thornton were the other players on the squad. That squad beat a team of Isaiah Thomas, John Salmons, Willie Reed, Francisco Garcia and Cyril Awere. The final score was 7-2. Sacramento Bee |

Webber raved about Kings rookie power forward Thomas Robinson, who was selected by Sacramento with the fifth overall pick, and how he would pair with budding star DeMarcus Cousins. "I hear (Robinson) is undersized and stuff; my scouting report is - whoever is saying that, they're wrong, they don't know what the hell they're talking about," Webber said. "This guy can attack the basket, he's strong...He and DeMarcus are going to be great together. "They could be one of the most formidable big men tandems in the game" news10.net |

The Sacramento Kings today signed first-round draft pick Thomas Robinson to a contract, according to Kings’ President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie. Sacramento selected Robinson with the fifth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Per team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed. Robinson, the Big 12 Player of the Year and First Team All-American, led the nation in double-doubles (27) and was second in rebounding in 2011-12. NBA.com |

The Kings have made re-signing Jason Thompson their top priority, but even with the qualifying offer Thompson was taking the wait-and-see approach. He was going to be wary if the Kings drafted a power forward, which they did in Thomas Robinson. Sulia |

![]() Jason Jones: Just got off a conference call with Thomas Robinson. Said he's looking forward to playing with Cousins. Twitter Sources told ESPN.com the Kings plan to wait as long as possible before committing to the trade to see who falls to them at No. 5. It's believed that Sacramento will walk away from the trade if Kansas' Thomas Robinson is still available after four picks are made. Yet sources say the Kings, in that scenario, would be walking away from "a lot," suggesting the Rockets have offered even more than the widely reported package of versatile but disgruntled guard Kyle Lowry and multiple picks later in Thursday's first round. Houston holds the Nos. 12, 16 and 18 picks. ESPN.com Sources are telling me that the Kings are still in "wait and see mode." They really like Thomas Robinson and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, but if neither player is available at #5 (completely possible), then they will most likely choose between the grouping of Dion Waiters, Damian Lillard and North Carolina big man John Henson. Sulia ![]() Ernie Grunfeld: On if the pick is between Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Harrison Barnes or Bradley Beal: It’s fair to say at least two of those three players will be there when it’s our turn to pick. Every draft goes in groupings. Obviously everyone knows who the No. 1 pick is going to be, but after that, there is a group of four or five players that will go anywhere from two to six, depending on who is picking. I think those three players are probably in that grouping, as is Thomas Robinson. Washington Post Though most executives see Charlotte's taking Robinson if it keeps the pick, a source close to the Wizards said they are fielding an increased number of trade calls for their pick and that the most targeted prospect is the one who isn't supposed to be here in this scenario: Robinson. And Washington is listening now, after sending the early message that it wanted to keep its pick. But that may not be an indication that Robinson will be around at No. 3 as much as it could be a reflection of the situation between the Bobcats and Cavaliers. If the Cavs acquire the second pick, they are expected to choose Beal, and Robinson would then be available. In the absence of that, the Wizards give former No. 1 pick John Wall a big-time backcourt mate if they make this selection. SI.com Marc J. Spears: Kings will not entertain trading 5th pick until they see who is available, sources tell Y! Word is Sacramento loves Kansas' Thomas Robinson. Twitter Cleveland has intensified its background checks on Waiters, and sources in direct contact with Cavs officials believe Waiters would be the franchise's choice over Kansas’ Thomas Robinson should the Charlotte Bobcats select Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at No. 2, and the Washington Wizards take Beal at No. 3.
