All indications are that Travis Diener could have been the Bucks' third point guard this season if he so desired. But Diener, a Fond du Lac native who went on to star at Marquette University, wanted to play extensive minutes and, with Brandon Jennings and Keyon Dooling firmly entrenched as the Bucks' Nos. 1 and 2 point guards, that wasn't likely to happen. So Diener, who played in only 11 games last season with Indiana and Portland, opted to sign with Dinamo Sassari, which is located on the island of Sardinia, an autonomous region of Italy. After playing for three different NBA teams, Diener recently decided to take his game to Italy. He will play this season for Dinamo Sassari, based on the island of Sardinia. "From everything I've heard, it's a first-class organization," Diener said Monday night. "The city itself, it's on an island, and it's absolutely beautiful. I'm looking forward to going over there."
