Pondexter, a guard for the Memphis Grizzlies, was able to score a date with Miss Tennessee Chandler Lawson by hollering at her over Twitter this week. During a guest appearance on ESPN’s “SportsNation” on Thursday, Young was asked whether Pondexter’s move was “desperate” or “smooth.” “Smooth, smooth,” the Philadelphia 76ers guard insisted. “[The Memphis Grizzlies] just made it to the Western Conference finals. They’re on TV. He is the man right now. Gotta strike when you hot right there!” Young, a Los Angeles native, then said he was going to try it out, too. He looked into the camera and said, “Miss California, holla at me!” Larry Brown Sports
