As for the Indianapolis-based brothers, aged 27 and 25, that the Morris Twins will be dueling Saturday night, Marcus playfully added: "We're twins. So we're a little bit better than them." Said Markieff, who told ESPN.com that the twins were fearful Marcus was about to be dealt to Boston instead of Phoenix on the night of the trade: "It's been unreal, man. Dream come true. We thought this could maybe happen later (in their careers) -- we were definitely going to try to push for it -- but it's crazy how it went down." The Hansbroughs know the feeling. Tyler Hansbrough admits that he never bothered "to dream about it before" because the notion of playing on the same NBA team with your brother is so rare. They likewise try not to think about how long it'll last. ESPN.com

And if history is any guide, it won't be for long. One season has been the norm for brother duos, apart from Caldwell and Major Jones spending two seasons together in Houston in 1982-83 and 1983-84, and three sets of siblings in the prehistoric era of the forerunner to the NBA known as the Basketball Association of America (see accompanying chart) back in 1946-47. "As things start to sink in a little bit, you realize what a year and what an opportunity this is," Ben says. "It's been great for our relationship as brothers also." Said Tyler: "We don't really talk about (the future) that much. We're trying to enjoy the moment right now, embracing the position we're in." ESPN.com

Their oldest brother, Greg, attained a win that tops anything Tyler or Ben will ever do on the basketball court—he beat brain cancer. Diagnosed at an early age, Greg faced incredible odds for survival and he overcame them. In typical Hansbrough fashion, Greg’s toughness and drive helped shape who is he today, but it wasn’t easy. The eldest Hansbrough was in a fight for his life and then had to learn to walk, talk and do everyday things again. "Having to learn to walk again," Ben said about his brother, "and doing all that stuff really has inspired us in ways that can't be explained." "It was real tough," Tyler said. "Especially when you love somebody like that and you see them struggling. But, you know, the way he battled and fought through it, it was an inspiration to me. And it's something I'll always look up to him for." NBA.com

So, he and Ben have come out as celebrity spokesmen for Voices Against Brain Cancer to raise awareness and, more importantly, money. The two will host a fundraiser Thursday in honor of Greg benefiting the organization at the Fieldhouse. Called Hoops with the Hansbroughs, guests will get to eat, drink and shoot around with the brothers and, maybe, a few other Pacers players. While other celebrities, like Tony Danza and Marc Anthony, have come out to support the brain cancer cause, the Hansbroughs will be the first professional athletes. Indianapolis Star

In the least surprising news of the day, Will Bynum of the Detroit Pistons has been suspended one game without pay for striking Tyler Hansbrough of the Indiana Pacers in the stomach, the league announced on Sunday via official release. The play occurred with 8:39 remaining in the fourth quarter, and with the Pistons trailing by 20 at the time. NBCSports.com

Detroit Pistons guard Will Bynum is facing a possible suspension and/or fine after being ejected Saturday for throwing a punch at the Indiana Pacers Tyler Hansbrough. Bynum was hit with a Flagrant Two foul and automatic ejection with 8:39 remaining in the Pacers' 90-72 victory at The Palace. Bynum appeared to hit Hansbrough in the groin. "It wasn't (done) intentionally but it kind of happened through the course of the game," Bynum said in the empty Pistons locker room. "The game was kind of physical. It was during the heat of the moment. "It was nothing intentional, though." Booth Newspapers

Coach Lawrence Frank, who hadn't seen a replay of the incident when he met with the media, agreed with Bynum. "I don't know but I think it's probably the competitiveness of it," Frank said. "I don't know if necessarily on that play he was provoked. I think Hansbrough was going to screen him. I don't think Will did anything intentional. I think (Bynum) swung his arm. To me, from the naked eye, it didn't look intentional. Booth Newspapers

The Pacers are, however, open to moving backups Tyler Hansbrough, D.J. Augustin and Gerald Green. I'm told they offered up the names of Hansbrough and Augustin when trying to pry J.J. Redick out of Orlando. But the Magic aren't interested in a move like that. Orlando might yet keep Redick, who wants to stay in Orlando, but only if the sharp-shooting backup settles for less than he might get on the open market this summer. Despite Redick's name being one of the most prominent in trade rumors, some executives are beginning to believe the Magic will not move him. ESPN.com

Midway through the fourth quarter of Friday’s game between the Pacers and the Raptors, Tyler Hansbrough got a little more physical than the rules should allow while battling for position under the basket with Jonas Valanciunas. Hansbrough literally throws Valanciunas to the ground near the end of the play, but the officials on the floor didn’t deem there to be enough contact to whistle him for even a personal foul, much less a flagrant for his actions. Things weren't so comical by the fourth quarter, though. After three Pacers technical fouls, Garnett picked up a flagrant 2 for hitting Tyler Hansbrough in the face while flailing with his arms. The Celtics center said he was merely trying to knock the ball away. Celtics coach Doc Rivers said he thought referee James Capers was trying to keep the game -- which was long out of reach -- under control. "I think he was thinking, 'I'm going to do him a favor,' because it was getting chippy," Rivers said. ESPN.com

Asked if Garnett apologized, Hansbrough said: "KG apologize? Are you from here?" Hansbrough, who scored 19 points, said his immediate concern was his history of concussions; he didn't notice whether Garnett had reached out. "I took a shot in the head," Hansbrough said. "I had to take care of myself. I wasn't really concerned about retaliating at the time. I was just making sure I was OK." ESPN.com

Thompson was attempting to pull a rebound away from Tyler Hansbrough in the fourth quarter, and in doing so he swung an elbow into the head of bystander Ben Hansbrough, a seldom-used Pacers reserve. "Psycho T" was unleashed, with Tyler Hansbrough immediately jumping into Thompson's face. Thompson, whose Canadian background we mention here for no particular reason, kept his cool and did not retaliate, so the fight stopped when referees interjected. USA Today
