The eldest Hansbrough was in a fight for his life and then had to learn to walk, talk and do everyday things again. "Having to learn to walk again," Ben said about his brother, "and doing all that stuff really has inspired us in ways that can't be explained." "It was real tough," Tyler said. "Especially when you love somebody like that and you see them struggling. But, you know, the way he battled and fought through it, it was an inspiration to me. So, he and Ben have come out as celebrity spokesmen for Voices Against Brain Cancer to raise awareness and, more importantly, money. The two will host a fundraiser Thursday in honor of Greg benefiting the organization at the Fieldhouse. Called Hoops with the Hansbroughs, guests will get to eat, drink and shoot around with the brothers and, maybe, a few other Pacers players. “What (they’re) doing, it’s the first in the NBA. In the least surprising news of the day, Will Bynum of the Detroit Pistons has been suspended one game without pay for striking Tyler Hansbrough of the Indiana Pacers in the stomach, the league announced on Sunday via official release. Detroit Pistons guard Will Bynum is facing a possible suspension and/or fine after being ejected Saturday for throwing a punch at the Indiana Pacers Tyler Hansbrough. Bynum was hit with a Flagrant Two foul and automatic ejection with 8:39 remaining in the Pacers' 90-72 victory at The Palace. Bynum appeared to hit Hansbrough in the groin. "It wasn't (done) intentionally but it kind of happened through the course of the game," Bynum said in the empty Pistons locker room. "The game was kind of physical. Coach Lawrence Frank, who hadn't seen a replay of the incident when he met with the media, agreed with Bynum. "I don't know but I think it's probably the competitiveness of it," Frank said. The Pacers are, however, open to moving backups Tyler Hansbrough, D.J. Augustin and Gerald Green. I'm told they offered up the names of Hansbrough and Augustin when trying to pry J.J. Redick out of Orlando. But the Magic aren't interested in a move like that. Orlando might yet keep Redick, who wants to stay in Orlando, but only if the sharp-shooting backup settles for less than he might get on the open market this summer. Hansbrough literally throws Valanciunas to the ground near the end of the play, but the officials on the floor didn’t deem there to be enough contact to whistle him for even a personal foul, much less a flagrant for his actions.
