Dante Exum considered attending college in the U.S., and he took his lone college visit to Indiana University, where he met Hoosiers star Victor Oladipo. Oladipo, who just completed his rookie season with the Magic, and Exum developed a rapport — one strong enough that Exum has said he's interested in playing for Orlando. Orlando Sentinel

Are the Magic the team that is highest on Exum? Seems that way based on mock drafts. Chad Ford: They want a point guard. They experimented with Victor Oladipo there, but preferably they get a young player that is more of a true point. Exum and Marcus Smart are the guys for them. They would've taken Smart No. 2 last year, but I think Exum has moved ahead. Lakers also really like Exum. So do the Jazz and Bucks. ESPN.com

When asked how his players remain motivated despite constant losing, Vaughn said, “The good thing is twice a month they receive something in their bank account and they’re professionals and the good thing is I’ll continue to push them. These guys want to be coached. And they want to be pushed to greatness and that’s what you tap into, and that’s what you push them toward each single day.” The consensus is the Magic won’t be down much longer. Harris, Harkless, Nikola Vucevic, and the splendid Victor Oladipo are all 23 or under, and the Magic are likely to select in the top five of this year’s fruitful draft. Boston Globe

Is it really as bad as it seems? "Yes," Ford said via email. "Really, only Victor Oladipo and Michael Carter-Williams are proving to be valuable starters at the moment. A few others like Trey Burke, Mason Plumlee, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Steven Adams have been solid. Giannis Antetokounmpo looks like he might be a big star down the road. But all of those players except Oladipo weren't even in the conversation for the No. 1 pick." Cleveland Plain Dealer

Victor Oladipo admired Kevin Durant from afar for a long time, and now Oladipo is happy and honored to call Durant a friend. They grew up in the Washington, D.C., area, so Oladipo always was attuned to Durant's accomplishments. But since Oladipo is four years younger than Durant, they hadn't met face-to-face until this past summer when Oladipo visited a basketball camp that Durant was running in Washington. "For him to be able to talk to me and for him to give me advice was kind of crazy," Oladipo said. "But at the same time, it definitely was humbling and definitely nice for him to do — a credit to him for doing that. He didn't have to, but he did it anyway." Orlando Sentinel

Oladipo acknowledged that the only way he’ll become a point guard, and the Magic will figure out if they want him playing that position for years to come, is by doing it. “I feel like I’ve gotten better, yeah,” Oladipo said, when I asked if he saw a change in his point guard skills between Summer League and December. “I feel like I’m getting better every day. It’s just experience, really. Experience from playing as many games as I have already. You know, just watching film, trying to slow it down. Trying to slow myself down, just adjust to the game.” Indianapolis Star

Michael-Carter Williams and Victor Oladipo made NBA history by becoming the first pair of rookies to have a triple-double in the same game. It was only the third time in NBA history that more than one rookie had a triple-double on the same day, but not necessarily in the same game. The other two occurrences were Tim Hardaway and David Robinson on February 2, 1990, and Grant Hill and Jason Kidd on April 7, 1995. ESPN.com
