The bench, which entered the game averaging an NBA-low 12.8 points per game, collectively played 76 minutes and scored 29 points as Joel Freeland (eight points, two rebounds, one block), Will Barton (seven points, 3 of 5 shooting) and Nolan Smith (six points, 3 of 6 shooting) excelled. “We heard it,” Smith said of outside criticism about the bench’s play. “But I think as a group ... we try and just focus on what we’re doing in house; just keeping each other’s confidence up and continue to be supportive of one another. It kept us all just ready for this moment.” Oregonian |

"My family pretty much understands what I'm trying to do. They're the only people that matter to me, to say the least," said Barton. "I always tell people: I don't have friends, I have family. A friend, I look at him as a brother. They're in my family, in my core. So I really don't have any friends. You either family or nothing with me." TrailBlazers.com |

![]() I continue to hear that it's possible that Cleveland (Nos. 4 and 24 in the first round and Nos. 33 and 34 in the second round) will move up to take Charlotte's No. 2 spot in order to land Beal. Utah has no first-round picks and had been attempting to land one in order to select Weber State point guard Damian Lillard, according to sources, but it's not known if Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor has made any progress. Milwaukee (No. 12) has considered trading back, and would take a long look at Barton if it did. ![]() With the 2012 NBA Draft approaching, the Denver Nuggets evaluated six college prospects at Pepsi Center on Monday. Among the group was University of Colorado power forward Austin Dufault, a four-year starter who played in a school-record 136 games. It was Dufault’s first NBA workout. “It’s awesome (to be here in Denver),” Dufault said. “Over the last four years, I’ve turned into a Nuggets fan because they’ve been down the road (from Boulder). I’ve been to a couple of games and I’m familiar with their coaching staff. Just being able to come here and work out is a blessing and it’s an opportunity that I’m very thankful for.” Dufault was joined by Memphis guard Will Barton, Tennessee Tech guard Kevin Murphy, St. Bonaventure forward Andrew Nicholson, Kansas guard Tyshawn Taylor and Kentucky guard Marquis Teague.
