Baloncesto Sevilla, a top team in the Spanish League, has announced that it's signed Nets draft pick Xavier Thames. The 6'3" Thames, taken with the 59th pick in the 2014 Draft, was not signed by the Nets, the only one of their three picks to go unsigned. Brooklyn will retain his NBA rights. NetsDaily
It sounds like the old post-draft line, "we were stunned to see he was still available," but multiple sources tell NetsDaily that Markel Brown, taken by Brooklyn at No. 44 with the Minnesota pick, was No. 22 on the Nets internal mock draft. Moreover, say the same sources, the Nets mock had Xavier Thames going at the first pick in the second round, at No. 31, and Cory Jefferson, five picks later at No. 36. Former San Diego State star and NBA Draft prospect Xavier Thames will return to his hometown on Saturday to workout for the Sacramento Kings. Thames, a 23-year-old point guard, was a star at Elk Grove's Pleasant Grove High School before playing four years at San Diego State. news10.net
Rodney Hood will headline a pre-draft workout hosted by the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. The Kings announced that the Duke forward will participate in a six-man workout that includes Kyle Casey (Harvard), Jarell Eddie (Virginia Tech), C.J.
