Miami Heat, closer to lottery or ECF? PG: Chalmers, Cole, Napier SG: Wade SF: Deng, Granger, Ennis PF: McRoberts, Haslem C: Bosh, Birdman
Riley on Granger signing: “One of our main priorities this offseason was obtaining a proven veteran like Danny with All-Star experience."
Heat confirm Granger signing. Riley-"One of our main priorities this offseason was obtaining a proven vet like Danny w/ All-Star experience"
Riley on Granger (cont.), "We expect him to be a multi-position player and have a very successful season in our system.”
Riley on Granger, "One of our main priorities this offseason was obtaining a proven veteran like Danny with All-Star experience . . . "
And now Heat signs Danny Granger.
Oh, and forgot Granger, so make that 12 out of 15 spots likely already in place. (Tough crowd in 'Mentions' land.)
Interested to see how Pat Riley finishes filling HEAT roster. So far - Chris Bosh, Danny Granger, Luol Deng, Josh McRoberts and Norris Cole
Once Heat capped, with have $2.7M exception. Getting close, at about $58M with Bosh, Wade, Deng, McRoberts, Granger, Cole, Napier, Haslem.
So Bosh, McRoberts, Deng, Wade, Chalmers, Granger, Birdman, Napier, Cole, Ennis, Haslem, Jones, Oden, Beasley, Hamilton a possible Heat 15.
In or to be in with Heat: Bosh, Wade, McRoberts, Granger, Cole, Napier, Ennis. Stringly looming: Deng, Birdman. Possible: Hamilton.
Wade & Haslem still negotiating $ & length of deals, though both expected back. As for McRoberts & Granger, they may end up under cap now.
Several have asked if LeBron's move affects McRoberts & Granger deals. Heat would not back out of those.
So if Cavs met Sunday with LeBron, Riley was making McRoberts, Granger moves Monday to support a player with at least one foot out the door.
Poor Danny Granger...
So, have people started blaming Danny Granger for ruining the Heat yet?
One reason MIA can overpay Wade to return: NBA's minimum for team salaries is $56.8 mill. Heat have Cole, McRoberts, Granger…and that's it
But...think of Danny Granger, LeBron! C'mon!
Dwyane Wade took less money, probably to become teammates with Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger.
Efecto dominó. Chris Bosh firmará por Houston y habrá que ver si Josh McRoberts y Danny Granger renuncian al acuerdo verbal con Miami
Some have asked about Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger. No official release/press conference on either today. For obvious reasons.
The Heat could go from LeBron James and Chris Bosh to Danny Granger and Josh McRoberts in a matter of moments. Lol.
If Chris Bosh signs with the Rockets, then the Heat will still have Josh McRoberts and Danny Granger.
If LBJ & Bosh leave, Wade drops down to $12 mil, Heat would have about $37 mil to spend, assuming they stick w/ McRoberts & Granger
So Heat get McRoberts/Granger, and Cavs open space for LeBron max-level contract. Either blind faith by one of both, or someone knows.
Why are people convinced LeBron is staying in Miami? He clearly gave Riles an ultimatum to add talent to roster. Granger + McRoberts = fail.
Also hearing that Granger is highly motivated to prove he can be a valuable contributor on a contender. We'll see. But they are upgrades.
Doesn't guarantee anything yet, but Heat are very happy with Josh McRoberts, Danny Granger agreements.
So basically McRoberts in for Battier, Granger in for Beasley, Napier in for Douglas, Ennis in for (argument's sake) Jones.
With McRoberts, Granger, and with promise of Napier, Ennis, Heat are better than they were at end of season. And haven't lost anyone (yet).
