3 missed FT's cost Lakers their final pre-season game. Nice work though by Lin, Davis, Randle, Clarkson, and yes even Sacre
Lin makes 1 of 2 FTs, Kings down 92-91, 10.2 seconds to play.
Jeremy Lin, Wesley Johnson and Laker backups having their way this quarter against the Kings.
LINSANITY: LAS VEGAS.
The notion of Lin coming off the bench was tied to Nash as part time starter - now? Different situation - likely will be starting soon
Spending time w/my newborns; back 4 opener. Lin/Randle/Davis
Ronnie Price (sore right knee) is done for the night for the Lakers. More Linsanity for us all.
Lakers are attacking the paint tonight. Nice finishes by Jeremy Lin and Julius Randle. 32-27, Lakers.
Mitch Kupchak said he is "okay" with pg depth w/ Lin, Price & Clarkson. Mitch: "Will we look to get another backcourt player? I don't know."
Lakers not looking to add another PG at this time. They like Lin, are pleased with Ronnie Price. And of course, there's the rookie, Clarkson
Jeremy Lin said his time in Houston taught him nothing is guaranteed. He wants to start but said he has no idea if he will with Nash out.
Lin: "One thing I’ve learned is nothing is guaranteed in this league, just because he’s out that doesn’t mean I’ll be playing a lot."
Ronnie Price will start for the Lakers tonight with Jeremy Lin coming off the bench. Byron Scott hasn't decided on opening night lineup yet.
Lin: "What I went through in Houston has prepared me for this year." As mentioned before, Scott will pick starting PG once season starts
Jeremy Lin expressed sympathy about Nash's injury and sounded respectful to Scott about not starting.
To clarify, Lin's not complaining about not starting. But he said his experience in Houston is preparing him for a backseat if necessary.
Ronnie Price starts for Lakers tonight at PG. Lin, who will come off bench: "One thing I've leaned...nothing's guaranteed in this league."
Byron says he's starting price because he has played well through preseason and Lin is just coming off injury. But this is not set in stone
Jeremy Lin quietly has a Top 15 NBA handle.
I'm learning there's a real history with Lin, Rockets, fans, blogs, message boards, etc. - all new to me - very lively crowd on Twitter
Eventually Nick Young will return - I'd expect Scott to play with the rotation then - many reasons why Lin should start- right now, I get it
Otherwise Lakers have no offense - nada - if Kobe or Lin isn't on the floor - worked vs. Blazers 2nd/3rd unit w/Price w/o Kobe but come on
I think Lin fans need to look at Kobe as starting pg - backed by Lin - best way to look at it - Kobe played de facto pg most of career
Those picking up Jeremy Lin in fantasy right now disgust me. Let's have a moment of silence for Steve Nash, please.
Nash's injury opens up most of the point guard minutes for newcomer Jeremy Lin. Ronnie Price seems likely to assume the backup role.
There are some SERIOUSLY passionate Lin fans who are very angry that Jeremy Lin is not starting - didn't quite grasp the scope til now
Is Ronnie Price better than Lin? No. Does Byron Scott think that? No. But weak roster currently - Lin is desperately needed on 2nd unit
I just expect Byron Scott to delay that for now - Lin starting
Ultimately, I don't expect Nash to be a major part of Lakers this year - and Young will return to be scorer for 2nd unit - so Lin may start
So if Steve Nash is starting, then Lin getting time now w/ 2nd unit is about building that unit
How long that will last is TBD - I would imagine Nick Young returning to floor makes it easier to start Jeremy Lin
Right now the Lakers can get scoring in their top unit with Kobe and cast - they have almost nothing in 2nd unit - which is why Lin there
