Blake Ahearn Rumors
Coaching intrigues Ahearn. He said a couple of NBA teams have put out feelers about helping out. College coaching is another option. Either way, he figures his experiences from 14 professional stops in seven years will be knowledge to pass along. Included were three brief stays in the NBA. Ahearn had 12 games with the Miami Heat in 2007-08, three games with the San Antonio Spurs in 2008-09 and four games with the Utah Jazz to finish the 2011-12 season.
The Wizards, according to a league source, worked out Ben Uzoh and Blake Ahearn on Sunday, but the team has not formally announced any roster moves apart from the injury to Price.
The Pacers also announced Monday that center Luke Nevill (Photos) along with guards Sundiata Gaines (Photos) and Blake Ahearn (Photos) have been released, putting the Pacers’ roster at 15. Nevill saw limited game action in two games, scoring one basket. Gaines also played in two games, scoring four points, and Ahearn played in three games, scoring five points.

Utah Jazz general manager Kevin O’Connor announced today that the team has signed guard Blake Ahearn for the remainder of the season. Ahearn, who was originally signed by the Jazz to a 10-day contract on April 10 from the D-League’s Reno Bighorns, became the NBA’s 50th D-League Call-Up this season and has since seen 15 minutes of action in three games with Utah. The Jazz will now finish the regular season with 15 players on its roster.
O’Connor said the Jazz haven’t made a decision about whether they’ll sign Blake Ahearn to a second 10-day contract. His initial deal expires Wednesday. Utah likes what Ahearn has brought to the team and knows it needs a third point guard with Watson out. However, the Jazz will fully explore their options and wait until the conclusion of Wednesday’s game against the Blazers before making a final decision.
