Dominique Ferguson Rumors
The Warriors will be hosting more workouts on Sunday in advance of the June 28 NBA draft. There will be two separate workouts at the team’s downtown practice facility. The first will include Nevada-Reno’s Olek Czyz, Florida International’s Dominique Ferguson, Arizona’s Kyle Fogg, BYU’s Noah Hartsock, Tomas Satoransky from Spain and Harvard’s Keith Wright.
The newest addition for Samuels is Florida International University (FIU) forward Dominique Ferguson. Ferguson was a highly touted recruit coming out of high school, and it was somewhat of a shocker that he decided to enroll at FIU, which is far from a basketball powerhouse. That said, Isiah Thomas was the head coach, and he brought a lot of clout with him to the program. Since then, Thomas has been dismissed from FIU and Ferguson attempted to transfer to be closer to his family. The request and subsequent appeal were denied.
Dominique Ferguson felt he had no option but to declare for the NBA Draft. The talented 6-foot-9 sophomore forward, who went to Florida International due to the presence of head coach Isiah Thomas, told CBSSports.com that he is headed to the pros after not being allowed to play at another Division 1 school. “They won’t give me my release and let me play anywhere else,” Ferguson told CBSSports.com. “They give schools too much power and treat us like they own us.”
