The Warriors are still in talks with first-round pick Nemanja Nedovic in hopes that he will be able to join the summer-league team in Las Vegas, but he might be tied up with Serbian national team duties. Ognjen Kuzmic, who the Warriors drafted in the second round last season and stashed overseas, has a bone bruise in his right ankle and won’t be able to play.
The National Basketball Association (NBA) and FIBA Europe have signed a new multi-year partnership deal to increase the awareness of basketball events across the continent. The co-operation will promote the EuroBasket Men and Women tournaments in 2011 and 2013 and also see referee and coaching clinics staged in Europe, amongst other projects and development programs. In addition, both the NBA and FIBA Europe will use locally targeted online content to promote the sport. “This partnership builds on our close ties with FIBA Europe,” said Sophie Goldschmidt, senior vice-president of NBA Europe. “By sharing experience and knowledge we will be combining our efforts to help further build the sport and promote it to an even wider audience.”
