Frank Catapano has represented more than 40 NBA players and 100 international basketball players, but he never thought he’d be in a position to represent the potential No. 1 pick in the NBA draft at this point in his career. Catapano, 71, founder of Pro Partner Sports Management, is co-representing Kentucky center Nerlens Noel with ASM Sports founder Andy Miller.
Frank Catapano Rumors
In the case of Noel, Catapano met him when he was a sophomore in high school through his former AAU basketball coach, Chris Driscoll, whom he has known for years. “He was a young, thin kid who looked like he would develop into a good player,” Catapano said. Over the years, Catapano said he met Noel about eight times and gave him advice about basketball and his future. “[I] just talked to him,” Catapano said. “The [NCAA] rules are you can talk to any kid, but you can’t offer him anything. I never thought it would be in the cards that I would be his agent.”
University of Kentucky center Nerlens Noel – a strong candidate to be chosen first overall in the June NBA draft – has hired co-agents to represent him: Frank Catapano and Andy Miller. Chris Driscoll, the head of Noel’s management group, told Yahoo! Sports of the arrangement on Thursday.
