Jim Tanner Rumors
Ten-time NBA All-Star Ray Allen will not play during the 2014-15 NBA season, announced his agent Jim Tanner, President of Tandem Sports + Entertainment. Allen will take the remainder of this season and the off-season to reassess for the 2015-16 NBA season. “Over the past several months, I have taken a lot of time to deliberate what is best for me,” Allen said. “I’ve ultimately decided that I will not play this NBA season. I’m going to take the remainder of this season, as well as the upcoming off-season, to reassess my situation, spend time with my family and determine if I will play in the 2015-16 season.”
The Warriors and forward James Michael McAdoo reached agreement on a second 10-day contract Monday, according to agent Jim Tanner. McAdoo averaged 37.5 points and 13 rebounds and shot 66 percent from the field in two games for Santa Cruz in his return to the team having completed his first 10-day contract.
First, the Wizards are waiting to get a definitive answer from Allen if he’s returning for another season. According to two people with knowledge of the situation, Allen’s agent Jim Tanner hasn’t told the Wizards that they wouldn’t be an option.
Allen, however, has yet to notify his agent, Jim Tanner, if he intends to even play a 19th NBA season. The shooting guard averaged a career low 9.6 points per game with the Miami Heat last season before becoming a free agent.
