Scott Morrison Rumors
The Boston Celtics have hired a new head coach for their D-League affiliate in Maine. Scott Morrison was officially announced Tuesday as the head coach of a Maine Red Claws. He will replace Mike Taylor, who coached the Red Claws for two seasons before being relieved of his duties earlier this summer. The hiring of Morrison comes as no surprise, as there were many indications around the web, including Morrison’s own Twitter bio, that signaled the team would be bringing aboard the former head coach of Lakehead University in Canada last month. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Lakehead men’s basketball team will have a familiar face calling the shots from the bench this year. But it won’t be Scott Morrison. The longtime LU bench boss is taking a professional leave of absence and has accepted a role with the Boston Celtics affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, of the NBA Development League.
