Trey Gilder Rumors
Veteran forward Trey Gilder is expected to compete for a roster spot during the Jazz’s upcoming training camp, The Salt Lake Tribune learned on Wednesday.
The Jazz waived Paul Carter, Trey Gilder, Keith McLeod and Scottie Reynolds on Wednesday. Utah’s roster is at 14. Jazz General Manager Kevin O’Connor said Carter could land with the Idaho Stampede, Utah’s NBA Development League affiliate. Veteran point guard Jamaal Tinsley made the initial cut. He will continue to back up Devin Harris and Earl Watson.
The Jazz are expected to invite free agent forward Trey Gilder to training camp, a league source told The Salt Lake Tribune on Wednesday. The 6-foot-9, 185-pound Gilder played two games for Memphis during the 2009-10 season. He spent time with Maine and Colorado in the NBA Development League and starred at Northwestern State.
Former Northwestern State star Trey Gilder worked out for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs Wednesday, making a bid to earn an invitation to training camp and a return to playing in the NBA. Gilder opened last season with the NBA’s Memphis Grizzlies, then starred in the NBA Developmental League for a second straight year. He won a skills competition and scored six points in the fourth annual NBA Development League All-Star Game in conjunction with the NBA’s 2010 All-Star Weekend in Dallas and Arlington.
