Thanks to all the Knick fans who listened to & watched us this season. Your support means everything.
Were those Kanye songs on SNL supposed to be enjoyable? I'm unclear what demo he's going for.
So what has orchestrating a trade to Knicks done for Carmelo Anthony's career? And don't say he gets to live in NY. He could do that anytime
This shot of Burke-Siva captures their serious elevation on that infamous "foul" http://t.co/nqSkS2lpRr
So Weeks sits,Bianchi gm winning hit.And Scooter Gennett is close to MLB ready. Headline. Weeks fan club meets in back seat of smart car!
Big day in Indy next Sunday. Indy 500 in the afternoon. Pacers-Heat Game 3 at the fieldhouse that night.
And yes, this should have been the runner-up in the blocked shot poster category http://t.co/Iex5TBoJBH
literally the first line of the CA game preview says this is Grizz/Spurs 2nd postseason meeting. guess the Hubie year never happened.
Roy Hibbert with a HUGE block on Carmelo Anthony. Pacers block Knicks http://t.co/e6enb38mVd
Radical question for the Grizz: Would it make sense to have Tony Allen come off the bench specifically for Ginobli?
For a league, and commissioner, so concerned with perception it's pretty bad they can't shake the perception that they influence outcomes.
First, I think NBA conspiracy theories are (mostly) ridiculous. Second, it's a huge problem for the league that I'm in the minority.
Has the dunker ever been posterized before? http://t.co/s23BBIdLw5
James Harden wanted the role he has in Houston, and the Thunder simply didn't have that kind of role available for him...
A lot of people piling on Sam Presti for trading James Harden... Harden wasn't traded over money... he was traded over the role he wanted
The day the news broke that Ledo declared, the word was there was indeed a first-round promise. That was taken with a large grain of salt.
Wednesday and Thursday in East Rutherford loses some star-power without Ledo, who may, I repeat MAY have a promise somewhere in the 1st rnd
I've been jogging around the West Coast in my Heart, Grit and Grind t-shirt for a couple years now. Feel like I need to stop and frame it.
Providence's Ricky Ledo has pulled out of the pre-NBA Draft group workout in New Jersey this week, his agent, Seth Cohen, tells Y! Sports.
Wallace on media and league insiders' lack of knowledge about MGasol during MVP season in ACB: "It’s not like he was playing in Mongolia.”
Daily verse: We pray that you will be strengthened w/all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance & patience you need. Col 1:11
And, Spurs fans: This is a toss-up series. Nearly went Spurs in 7. San Antonio is GREAT. Both teams are really, really, really good.
Spurs a bit deeper, w/ home-court, better shooting, and polished Splitter this time. And yet, I can't shake that Grizz D. (Gulp): MEM in 6.
Those of you in town might consider buying a hard copy of today's E-N, featuring complete WCF preview section, but ... links to come
On flight home from Indy with two great Post teammates in Mark Hale and Steve Serby but with no G 7 to cover tomorrow. Just trash-bag day.
Twenty-two of IND's 36 offensive boards vs MIA came in one of the 3 games b/w them. Still: Heat have to gang rebound in this series.
OFFICIAL: Kyle McAlarney is a new player of Orleans for the coming season
As Indy keeps playing, Billy King continues to have to wait if he wants to talk to Brian Shaw. Earliest finish date for Pacers-Heat is 5/28
A lot going on locally this week. NYK baggy day (possibly Mon.), Draft Lottery Tuesday in NYC, Nets draft workout Tuesday & Wednesday in NJ
Down to the NBA's final four beginning today in San Ann Tone. Count me among those who would sign up for Grizzlies-Heat in the NBA Finals.
solid hammer throws at Loughborough from Andy Frost 70.03m and @MarkDry 71.69m
Yes. Shabbat Shalom, buddies.
International Friendly (Bertrage). Luxembourg 92 Scotland 64. Luxembourg win series 2-1.
Not exactly the best preparation for the Greek PO, but who cares http://t.co/gW5D722kQI
Small correction: RT Guinn is flying now to Athens and he will be in Greece later today ready to join his new team: Panathinaikos
Unicaja Malaga agreed to terms with Mindaugas Kuzminskas for the coming seasons according to Diario Sur
JaVale's Instagram is a national treasure.
International Friendly (Bertrage). Luxembourg 71 Scotland 79. Game 3 today.
Hibbert and J. O'Neal are the only Pacers players with at least 20 points, 10 boards & 5 blocks in a playoff game over the last 25 years.
Angry Kanye is awesome
While that pic is cool, I want to see the pic taken from this camera in the upper right: http://t.co/ANw2wTIr9z
Sleep? Forget that. This is New York City.
Wow, Kanye is amazing
Up late working on some Nets season wrap-up stuff that's going to start running on the blog Monday. Think you guys will enjoy it.
Overwhelmed by the replies tweeps. Thank you!
Thats a wrap. Time to sleep.
Happy Birthday to one of the greatest executives in sports Pres. John McDonough of the Chicago Blackhawks. All class.
...able to cover this team for a season. Look forward to learning some new tricks, and doing a better job reporting going forward.
Got some unbelievably sweet tweets/messages from you all tonight. Wish you all knew how much fun I had & how much pride I took in being....
I guess Knicks beating Miami three times this season really doesn't matter anymore. All it does is make things more painful for Knicks fans
The goodbye hugs from Bill Hader and the SNL crew. Man.
Does anybody else wear those Kanye shirts that flash the taco meat/chest hair?
Will Jason Kidd score another point in the NBA?
you gotta admire the way the Timbers can pick up draws
Pacers stats: they had only 9 turnovers (none in the 4th), were +32 in the paint, +16 at the FT line, +7 on the glass and shot 51%.
Knicks got outrebounded by 52 in this series if my math is right. A difference of almost nine rebounds per game.
Well Knicks fans, my 1st season on the beat is over. Thanks for following me. It was a fascinating season.
Great day. Oldest graduated from High school today. Blessed to be surrounded by so many family and friends.
Jason Kidd earned more points on his license this year than he recorded in the playoffs.
Seattle ends FC Dallas' 9 game unbeaten streak 4-2. Michel corner kick goal ties it, 62nd min goal by Eddie Johnson (2nd 2nite) is winner
And Danny Granger isn't Indy's best player, either. A very good player, but clear third behind Paul George and Roy Hibbert.
And he had a pretty rough couple years before this one, too. Pacers were patient and have been rewarded handsomely.
Also, please don't use the "why didn't the Knicks draft Stephenson" thing. Him being in a place like Indiana allowed this to happen.
I'm into Kanye's Ministry period.
Stephenson on Shaw: "He gives me the confidence in the game to knock down big shots.”
I should mention when I talked to Lance Stephenson, he credited his development this season to Brian Shaw. Nets expected to interview him.
Kenyon Martin: "They got in the penalty early in most of the games. I don’t think we adjusted well to the way things were being called.”
Iman Shumpert on the Pacers: “You never want anybody to be more aggressive than you, but they were the whole series.”
And, finally, I wonder if Chris Copeland is this year's Gerald Green, a guy who signs a mini-MLE deal this summer and is quickly overpaid.
Iman Shumpert on this season: “We failed. We wanted to put ourselves in the finals & then roll the dice. We didn’t do that.”
Sixth, I have no idea what J.R. Smith is going to get this summer. Will be awfully curious. But he did himself no favors with these playoffs
Fifth, I really hope Tyson Chandler was playing through injuries, because he was dreadful in this series. If not, huge issue for Knicks.
JR Smith: "I love it here. I love my teammates. I love my coaches."
JR Smith: “I want to retire a Knick. I don’t want to go anywhere else."
But what a great season for @msgnetworks to be a part of! We have not worked until May 18th in a LONG time. Shout out to my faithful Tweeps!
JR Smith: "I wasn’t there for my teammates. They tried to rely on me and I didn’t step up."
My dad wouldn't believe me when I said he wasn't. "He's really great!" my dad kept saying. Couldn't argue with him.
The Kings have won 12 straight at home but are 1-9 in their last 10 on the road.
Fourth, my dad watched the game, never watches hoops. Late in 4th quarter, turns to me and says, "Is Stephenson their best player?"
Oh look... I have service. Oh look... Knicks season is over. Maybe it was a blessing the wifi stunk in Indy, tonight was frustrating.
Third, two centers were questioned for the contracts they got last summer: Brook Lopez and Roy Hibbert. Anyone questioning them now?
2nd, bizarre decisions from Woodson. Should've played Copeland more, and should've had JR sitting. He was horrible, especially defensively.
By the way, despite the venom directed at J.R. - a change of roster in dramatic way going to be very tough with cap woes.
Of course, Andre Miller is neither fast nor young & gets DEN plenty of FBP.
The more Carmelo talked, the more he kept up the optimism. At one point, he called it "a helluva season.'' Maybe a helluva regular season.
That said, couple of points about the game. First, Knicks fans complaining about refs are silly. The Knicks shot jumpers all game long.
Smitty & B.Scott made good point about NYK on NBA TV. PGs are slow &/or old. Don't get easy points in transition. See previous tweet re: FBP
I didn't have Internet access for the second half of the game. Reminded me how much I enjoy being on Twitter watching sports now.
With Game 4 not taking place until Tuesday night, the Kings return home tonight and will practice Sunday and Monday in LA.
I just have no idea how Chris Paul is going to decide between the Knicks and Lakers after Stern trashes all salary cap rules.
FINAL: Sharks 2, Kings 1 in OT. Logan Couture with the game winner. Kings lead the series 2-1.
Walked away for 2 mins, come back and Sharks already won.
Someone let me know when it's online.
I'm watching the the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions on HBO and waiting for Kanye's SNL performance to be uploaded.
So my brain went to “Beautiful People” at the start of Kanye, but I didn’t hate it. Can’t wait for more new music.
I feel cheated. Refs decided an otherwise great game. My guess is SJ feels the same way about game 2. At least we get a game five in LA.
This Kanye Marilyn Manson joint is amazing
Congrats to the Pacers and Frank Vogel
Saturday, May 18
Blazers cheery note of the day: PG Raymond Felton with two points (0-7 shooting) in the Knicks season-ending loss to Pacers.
As several savvy folks have said, the move is re-signing J.R. Smith. Team is capped out, has few options as a result and he is a scorer.
Knicks' cap at 78M next season & year after. They owe Kidd 2 ar 3.090, Novak 3.7M/3.4M, Camby 4.4M/4.1M & Amare 45M. How do they get better?
Golden Boy matchmaker Eric Gomez corrects a reporter, says Matthysse has surpassed Sergio Martinez, is considered Argentina's No. 1 boxer
It's Kings 1, Sharks 1 at the end of regulation and they're working overtime at the Shark Tank.
Regular season series: Chandler vs. Pacers - 12.7 points, 11.7 rbs in 3 games. Hibbert vs. Knicks - 5.5 points, 6.3 rbs. Totally changed.
Are you kidding? This has been a great game--and they call two penalties now?
Melo, on Hibbert's block: "It was a big play. A hell of a block. ... That block spearheaded the [end-of-game] run that they had."
Now that team has suffered real defeat, will be interesting to see how, if at all, the dynamic changes next yr
For those wondering if J.R. will come cheap - he loves NY. His agent does, too, but his job is not to leave money on the table.
Amar'e's been lauded as a team-1st guy, & rightfully so. But his answers abt coming off bench always end w "as long as we're winning..."
And that's pretty weak
All 5 starters took the podium postgame. http://t.co/Z3PAIgur3o
Ian Mahinmi is the only Pacer player who ever has played in a conference final. He was on the 2011 champion Mavs.
CarJello down the stretch
Carmelo Anthony and J.R. Smith took 14 of the Knicks' 18 fourth quarter shots. They took 8 of the Knicks' 19 third quarter shots.
Melo is only player to score 39 points (while shooting above 50%) and grab 7 rebounds in a game this postseason.
"Talk about...." is better than "Thoughts on...."
J.R. Smith and Kenyon Martin both said they want to return to New York - J.R. very emphatically.
Schaefer: "Al Haymon is a fan of the sport. He wants to see the best fight the best." Richard made a funny.
Paul George earlier this year: "I think if you ask anyone in here how bad we want that rematch [against Miami], we’d all be up for it.”
Jason Kidd, who did not play in the second half for the second straight game, did not speak with reporters.
So, in the end, Woodson did throw Kidd to the curb....but even that didn't help/work...
Paul George wanted a rematch vs. Heat. He watched film of last year's series repeatedly last summer. He was disappointed he didn't do more.
Man, the Pacers committed just one turnover in the 2nd half. Maybe the most amazing thing about that game.
After the Pacers knocked off the Atlanta Hawks, Donnie Walsh said this team was one his all-time favorites to be a part of ...
Anyone see Victoria Beckham tear up in Davids last game? If u know anything abt Posh Spice, it's that it takes a lot for her to show emotion
JR Smith, who likely will opt out and become a free agent, said"I want to retire a Knick."
J.R. Smith, who will become a free agent, says he wants to retire as a Knick.
Hibbert is nailing Jim O'Brien without naming him, talking how Vogel turned team around when he took over. O'Brien had Hibbert ready 2 quit
Amar'e says he wants to make it work with Carmelo. Asked if he wants to stay in New York, he said "without a doubt."
I just don't see how the Pacers will be able to keep up with the Heat offensively in crunch time this series. Not against that defense.
Halftime in Seattle, goals by forwards Eddie Johnson (16') & Lamar Neagle (31') have Sounders FC leading FC Dallas 2-0.
After watching this, I really think that James, Wade and Bosh need to invite Chalmers to the podium with them.
Roy Hibbert at the podium: Throw it down, big fella!
Indiana's starters all had double figures. All five players were at the podium for postgame press conference. They're sharing the two mics.
Guys, talk about this basketball game and I'll record it
David West: "This is the most together group I've ever been a part of."
Stoudemire, on second-half benching: "It's tough. It's tough. It's never easy. But its coach's decision."
Brian Shaw's head coaching price just doubled..
Warriors chose Ekpe Udoh over Paul George ... Too soon?
This Pacers press conference with all five guys is pretty incredible.
A while back I said if Charlotte NBA team was called Cantaloupes and won 50 games, they'd be loved. No one has disagreed. That's telling.
Hibbert must've gone to private school before attending Georgetown.
3 players have finished w/ 25 pts (while shooting over 69%) & 10 rebs in a win this postseason: LeBron, Tim Duncan, & now - Lance Stephenson
Seeing Lance Stephenson up there... at last, the Juwan Howard re-signing makes sense.
Carmelo Anthony is sitting at his.locker, looking very upset, frustrated, surprised and almost numb.
Pacers -Heat. Who do you have ?
Carmelo Anthony is sitting at his locker, looking like a very frustrated, upset, stunned and almost numb.
All five Pacers at the podium. This is different. Very collegiate.
Melo sat at his locker for quite a while with a blank stare in his eye. Team clearly expected to win this series.
This press conference is already GOAT.
Pablo Prigioni felt the Lance Stephenson steal that led to a three point play changed the game. "It was big," he said.
Frank Vogel is a phenomenal coach but he still looks and sounds like Alan the mean kid from Freaks and Geeks.
Prigioni says its too early to analyze his own situation in terms of whether he wants to play in the league next year. Understandable.
Hill, who found out he was cleared around 1 PM, "This was a game I couldn't miss, and I couldn't wait to get out there with my teammates."
Some Knicks' fans blaming FT disparity. Newsflash: jump-shooting teams don't go to the line. Warriors had same issue, fans had same beef.
Shocking how baldy Chandler played in this series. Completely dominated by Hibbert all series. Knicks simply couldn't overcome that mismatch
Danny Granger is the Rudy Gay of the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Pacers sending all 5 starters to the podium.
Tyson: "They were the better team... Ran Into a poised Indiana team that stuck together and ran their [offensive] stuff."
As you might imagine, the players are distraught. Carmelo looks exhausted and defeated.
Only one of the NBA's 11 biggest payrolls (Miami, 4th) is in the NBA Final Four. Spurs are 12, Pacers are 22nd and Grizzlies 25th in payroll
Vogel: "This is not about getting back at Miami. When you make it to the final four, it's about winning a championship."
