Sometimes it's important to make bold predictions on Twitter late at night. Here's one: The Cavs will be a top-three seed in the East.
HOLD ON! Twice in 3 days in “How to Lose a Guy” the Kings play the Knicks at the Garden. I discovered the ONE unrealistic part of the movie
Started in the bayou, now we here. Good to see you again, L.A.
The “Sleepless in Seattle” scene of “How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days” has to be the most meta thing to ever happen in a chick flick.
In honor of Kings at Knicks tomorrow, the Mrs. and I are watching “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” Scott Pollard shoots FTs at the Garden!
At first, I was real pumped my soap smelled like Flinstones vitamins. Now, it’s just too much of a daily tease. http://t.co/kokv2iHPYJ
Warriors first Western Conference team to go 14-0 vs East since 1971-72 Lakers (won first 19 vs East).
Carlisle had Parsons throw the ball inbounds at the end. When he couldn't get it in the 1st time, Rondo decides he's going to throw it in?
The Warriors might win 40 games at home this year. But they’ll probably just win 38.
It still boggles my mind that Monta Ellis forgot he could go into the backcourt and receive an inbounds pass. Isn't that Basketball 101?
Brandon Knight's long lob to Jerryd Bayless for spectacular dunk was No. 7 play of day on SportsCenter.

Carlos Boozer told me pretty straightforward he believes Kobe will have surgery and be done for the season.
I asked how Lin gets used to uncertainty about if he will play. Lin: "The only thing you can get used to is not knowing what's coming next."
Kevin McHale on James Harden: "“He’s playing at an elite level. Most players can’t reach that level. The few that can .. it’s fun to watch."
Byron Scott: “I think we’ve had 20 Turnovers or more in our last 4 or 5 games.”
I asked if Jeremy Lin was trying to state his case. Lin: "No (laughs). We've been down this road before. Tonight I was enjoying the game."
FWIW, I saw Nick Young leave Staples Center on Sunday night. He was with a member of the Lakers community relations department.
Byron Scott: “The effort, like I said, that hasn’t been an issue. The TOs, that has been an issue. Again, we had 21 TOs tonight…
Rotator cuff surgery is about a 6 month recovery period. So I'm hearing Kobe wants to research everything before going under the knife.
Byron is old school, believing deeply in withholding playing time to teach lessons. No doubt hopeful Nick will step into some of Kobe void.
Kobe is the type to exhaust all options before a decision and I'm told that's what he's doing now. So far, everyone has recommended surgery
Landed in PHX. Let the circus begin. @csnne http://t.co/1zhZsElKJm
Kobe has an appointment with Dr. ElAttrache tomorrow. After that we may or may not have an update on whether he's decided to undergo surgery
Clarkson: "I felt like I wasn't making the right reads. I'm going to go back, watch film, & watch my clips & figure out what I did wrong."
"So, Pop, what's your take on Deflategate?" http://t.co/B5LEU8PEKU
Lin gave a stock answer about doing the best he can whether he plays zero, 10 or 40 minutes, but admitted he's thankful he didn't sit again.
Brian Shaw said he thought Wall stepped out when he called a timeout with 15.6 seconds left in OT. Wall then hit 2 FTs to make it 117-112.
Thanks email@example.com for writing that I'm "another angry black man barking at" him. Boxing fan-slash-numbskull.
Fun fact en route to Utah... Only three Eastern teams have a better record against the West, than the East. Atlanta, Chicago…and Boston.
Lin not only got to play, he got to run a lot of pick and roll--obviously more his style. Byron said he wants Jeremy to be "consistent."
"So, Pop, would you rather have a dragon or be a dragon?" http://t.co/5YuU58izJh
Young ditched reporters after playing just nine minutes. So no explanation for his lackadasical play
With Brandon Jennings out for year, DJ Augustin must step up. He did just that tonight, contributing 35 points, 8 assists, 4 boards vs TOR.
Did not cover game tonight. But Nick Young, apparently, left without speaking to reporters? What an absurd trend.
BScott on Young; "It looked to me like he didn’t want to be here. Thats how I looked at it."
FWIW, John Wall thought he was fouled when Kenneth Faried stripped him at the end of regulation.
Byron Scott on Nick Young: "I just felt with his body language that he didn’t want to play tonight, so I chose not to play him."
So exciting that my cab driver in Phoenix is Andy Warhol. This is huge. So many soup cans in the back seat. http://t.co/T2KGFyXzqK
It'll be interesting to see if Seth Curry gets a call-up. He's averaging 24 PPG, 4.4 APG, 1.3 SPG; shooting 48.4% on FGs and 49.5% on 3s.
I believe Willie Reed will be called up from the D-League at some point this season. He's averaging 13.5 points, 11.4 rebounds, 2.3 blocks.
Through 12 January games, the Spurs are now 9-3. With win over Bucks (.500 or above), the Spurs are 4-2 against those "good" teams in Jan.
I'm all-in on adding a DH to the NL, though. Pitchers too specialized to expect them to hit too, and prolongs careers.
Meanwhile we're a little over halfway through the season and those dudes from Oklahoma City are still sitting in 10th place in the West.
There was some skepticism Young left because he has a bunch of shoes still at his locker. But Lakers say he's gone
Is Manfred really serious about banning defensive shifts? How can you ban strategy? What's next, removing a middle infielder?
We're told Nick Young left without talking to reporters
Lakers say they believe Nick Young is gone for the night. If so, he left without speaking to reporters after being benched at halftime.
The Mavs fell to 6th tonight, Clippers moved up to 5th. Spurs (7th) are now 1.5 back on DAL, 3 games ahead of PHX (8th) out west.
Nick Young left without speaking to us. Not good.
Jeremy Lin on not playing last game: “I’m thankful for playing. A DNP will change your perspective on things.”

Byron Scott on Nick Young: "It looked to me that he didn't want to be here."
Byron said Nick was asked a question at halftime about defensive assignment and responded in a way that Byron didn't like.
Byron said Nick Young "didn't look like he wanted to be here"
More Thompson on Cs: "They were efficient with their ball movement. They didn't make many mistakes. Each one of them knew their roles."
Byron on Nick Young playing only nine minutes: "Looked to me, to be honest, like he didn't want to be there."
Klay Thompson: "(Celtics) weren't out there trying to play like Michael Jordan or be the hero. They just played solid team basketball."
Byron Scott: “The starting five I have right I’m going to keep for a while.”
But the Thunder losing twice to close out a tough five-game roadie against Atlanta and Cleveland problem shouldn't be that alarming.
New Orleans' win over Dallas and OKC's loss to Cleveland means the Thunder slip to 10th in the West.
Byron Scott on Nick Young: “It looked to me that he didn’t want to be here.”
Want to give a special shout out to mother nature for avoiding Indianapolis for so much of this winter. You the real MVP.
Curry: "It won’t always be pretty. It won’t always feel good. Not going to see a guy score 37 in a Q and have electric atmosphere every night"
Not a typo - Rockets attempted 44 three-pointers - made 13 - 29.5%
Lakers actually out-shot the Rockets 43.0% to 40.2% - but LAL missed 12 of 13 three-pointers (7.7%) to Houston's 13 of 44 (29.5%)
Corey Brewer says on Harden: "He's the best in the league right now. He's got to be MVP. If not, I don't know what's going on."
Stephen Curry on his two-handed dunk: "I’m not the Black Falcon. I just take my opportunities when I get them."
Lakers drop their eighth consecutive game, lose to Rockets, 99-87.
Final: HOU 99, LAL 87. Lakers have lost eight straight, matching their longest skid since they lost eight straight from March 14-27, 2005.
Lakers lose 99-87 to Houston. This marks the team's eighth straight loss.
Final: Rockets 99, Lakers 87. Boozer had 18 and 11 off the bench, Lin 14 (10 FT's) and 6, Ellington 13 and 5. Harden had 37/8/5.
FINAL: Rockets 99, Lakers 87. Harden (37 points) was awesome, but Rockets did not play very well. They will need better vs Dallas on Wed.
All smiles, Dwight chants along to "Howard sucks" chant from Lakers fans
Jeremy Lin only shot 1 of 8, but he made up for it by attacking basket. Had 14 points mostly off 10 of 14 clip from FT line
Rockets 99 - Lakers 87 - that'll do for the night
Lakers fans uncork a "Howard Sucks" chant. He's on the Rockets' bench in a light blue suit, out with a sprained ankle.
Loud “Howard Sucks” chants from Lakers fans. Howard is smiling, singing along, asking for fans to be louder.
Harden checks out with 37 points, 8 boards and 5 assists with 6 turnovers and 2 steals.
A "Howard Sucks" chant is breaking out. Dwight seems to enjoy it as he sits on the bench wearing a blue suit. What a sad state of affairs
Dwight Howard smiling and singing along the 'Howard sucks" chant.
Jeremy Lin tried to block a James Harden fast break drive. Harden scored easily, let out a yell. That's it... Rockets have this one.
Okay Ronnie Price.
With the Rockets lead back to 15 with 1:42 left, McHale clears his bench. Harden done with 37.
Scratch that. 37 points for James Harden. Lakers have NO answer for the player likely to replace Kobe as the West All-Star starter.
Klay Thompson on Steph Curry's dunk: "Off his weaker leg, I didn’t think he had that. He doesn’t cease to surprise me anymore."
Tarik Black has been moving pretty well on that ankle. We'll see if he gets additional PT over the next several games.
Pierce on Kenneth Faried’s missed free throws: “Thank you, Kenneth.” Pierce on Ty Lawson’s missed jumper to tie it: “Thank you, Ty Lawson.”
Klay Thompson on Boston: "They weren’t out there trying to play like Michael Jordan or be the hero. They just played solid team basketball."
In the past week, Scott had threatened he would cut Young's PT if he didn't improve his effort
Boston big man Jared Sullinger on the Warriors: "You almost have to be flawless to beat a team like that."
Rockets fans right behind me shouting “M-V-P… M-V-P” for James Harden. 32 points for the Rockets SG.
Ed Davis has played well in the paint tonight, up to 13 rebounds with his 6 points, block and steal.
Rockets getting in the lane often. They just refuse to shoot there. They have two points in the paint in 8 fourth-quarter minutes.
OKC is playing Dion Waiters crunch-time minutes but he's a terrible three-point shooter (25% this yr; 32% career). It hurts their spacing
Thing you realize while writing a story about Shavlik Randolph and Coach K: Jay Williams is still just 33. Could have been so good.
It’s hard enough to split defenders as it is, much less when the screener is wedged between them. AK
A run-stopping 3 from Corey Brewer cuts that LAL push a bit, Houston back up 14 with 4:34 to play. HOU has hit 13 3's, LAL only 1.
Corey Brewer corner three should give the Rockets enough breathing room - Lakers haven't quit on this one yet
Lakers making a run at the Rockets, closing gap to 11 pts. Rockets had led by 25.
James Harden just whipped a pass baseline into the Lakers bench. I wonder if he saw the red "fit" shirts out of the corner of his eye.
If Ray Allen is truly looking for team that will give him 4th quarter minutes, he should strongly consider the Thunder. They need a shooter
Players don't tank and the Lakers were competitive for the most part, but this new lineup change that will last 15-20 games? Nope.
That last one is my interpretation, not from Curry.
Tarik Black injected LOTS of energy into a lifeless game, and giving the Lakers a fighting chance
James Harden just passed the ball to Jordan Clarkson - who is on the Lakers bench presently
This is a team settling in with the knowledge that it is good enough to win a title, easily good enough, and now comes the responsibility.
Around consecutive missed 3's from Harden, Black got a layup and Lin 2 FT's to make it a 16-2 run. Rockets lead down to 11.
Midway through 4, Lakers are on a 14-2 run and only trail by 12.
Last Curry: "... not going to see a guy score 37 in a quarter and just have it be an electric atmosphere every single night."
Rockets now taking nothing but 3s. They are 1 of 7 on 3s in the fourth quarter. Lead, once 25, down to 11.
Look who's in the doghouse now: Nick Young. He's played all of nine minutes.
Lakers have closed the gap to 12 with 1 FT coming 5:34 on the clock - Price/Lin backcourt with Wes/Davis/Black
Best thing about a trip to Phoenix is Oregano's in Tempe. http://t.co/l25oJORKmS
Curry cont.: "I mean, it sounds weird, but you have to stick with the program knowing that every night it's not going to be pretty..
Tarik Black making his first appearance since sitting out past two games w/ sprained right ankle
Nick Young - 9 minutes - zero points
There have been an approximate 931 deuces in this game.
Here's the exact Curry quote: "I don't feel like we're tired, I think it's just... having the challenge of not getting bored with winning...
Tarik Black - getting his first minutes since a sprained ankle - Byron Scott choosing to work him in slowly - just scored in his 1st minute
I thought last season was bad, but this season is on a whole new level.
Lakers got three guards in tonight. Ronnie Price getting some burn while Lin still on the floor
Sure enough, McHale has seen enough from his bench and comes back with the starters and Brewer for Ariza, his team up 15 with 6:56 left.
The last time Nick Young played only nine minutes was in the 2012-13 season with the Sixers on Dec. 21, 2012.
Much like what we saw in Phoenix, Rockets got sloppy with a big lead. 12-2 Lakers run has Houston calling timeout, still up 15. 7:56 left.
LAL have used a 12-2 run to get within 15 points at 89-74. We may see how much the lead has to be trimmed for Harden to return.
Lakers within 15 with 7:56 left. Rockets time out as Harden circles the coaches as if to suggest it's time for more playing time.
I guess if you put enough "8 wins in 10 games" stretches together, you probably move up.
Black, of course, was waived by the Rockets, allowing LAL to claim him.
Spurs did pick up a game on 6th-place Dallas tonight. Now two back in the loss column. Making up ground in the West is a slog.
Rookie Tarik Black, a question mark to play with a sprained ankle from last week, checks in at the 7:15 mark for Boozer (18 and 11).
Tarik Black checking in for the Lakers. Surprised if he is well enough to play that he has not until now.
Spurs are 8-2 in past 10. Only Atlanta (10-0) and GSW (9-1) have been better in that time. And yet ... Spurs still in seventh.
Potential Australian Open classic setting up right now. Serena's in tough. Some great rallies.
Interesting group talking outside the Warriors' locker room: Andrew Bogut, Brian Scalabrine, Darren Erman and Joe and Kirk Lacob.
LOSING IS WINNING.
I didn't watch Ms. Universe or Royal Rumble. Thanks Twitter family for telling me both underwhelmed. Glad I read a book.
Curry on his dunk. "The fact that's the 1st question I get is... indicative of how surprised everybody in the arena was, including myself."
NICK YOUNG HAS ZERO POINTS AND HAS ONLY PLAYED NINE MINUTES. TANK YOU, BYRON.
Swaggy D, as in “Doghouse?” Nick Young hasn’t played yet in the second half. AK
Boozer, for one, has a nice game going, with 18 points and 10 boards in his 19 minutes (9 for 12 FG's) plus 2 assists. HOU up 87-67.
I waited until the Lakers were mathematically out of the playoffs to tweet about tanking last season, but I'm starting early. My goodness.
If Harden is done for the night, he will have averaged 35.2 points in his past four games. He has scored at least 30 in 7 of 9.
Fascinating Steph Curry post-game session where he pointedly said the Warriors now have to avoid "being bored by winning." Makes 100% sense.
Nick Young didn't play in the 3rd Q and remains on the bench to start the 4th. Ellington's in with Lin in the backcourt.
Rockets up 20 after 3
Rockets lead 80-60 after 3 Q's, Harden going for 32 points to lead HOU. LAL got 16 off the bench from Boozer, 10 and 7 from Hill.
Rockets 80, Lakers 60 after 3. Bench could give Harden the rest of the night off with 32p, 7r, 5a, but could be needed for one more run.
Clarkson's sequel not as good as original: 8 points on 2 of 10 clip, 2 assists, 5 turnovers
Lakers down 80-60 to Rockets after third quarter. There is not a single ounce of energy in this building both from the players & fans
At the end of 3, Lakers trail by a lot.
Pierce got his black/cut eye from a Nene elbow. “You got to expect scars in the war.”
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, LAKERS? THIS IS SO BAD.
Harden with an alley-oop slam off a fast break pass from Brewer. Don't see that too often.
James Harden has now scored 30 or more points in four straight games. He's also done it 21 times this year and 7 times in the last 9 games.
Harden up to 30 points in 28 minutes, his 21st game scoring at least 30 this season.
Lakers are struggling to score and their best scorer (Nick Young) has only played eight minutes. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
My other fav Rumble moment was Stardust coming out to complete silence. He wins 2015's Rumble Crowd Apathy award. Time for a new gimmick.
Kobe will meet with another doctor on Monday. But it's been stressed to me he may not make decision then. May need more time
Nick Young has played the least amount of minutes for the Lakers so far with 9. Closest to him is Ed Davis with 10.
This game is pretty ugly all around. Clarkson having a sophomore slump in 2nd start. Young has played 9 minutes. Lakers are 1 of 11 from 3
Cena-Seth-Lesnar match = very good. Bubba Dudley & R Truth doing Dudley moves = super-fun. Everything else = yikes. Rough night for WWE.
LAL continue to trail, 71-51, as the most of the subs (Nick Young still on the bench) check in with 3:35 left in the 3rd. Harden's up to 28.
Bass: "I thought coach had the perfect game plan. ... We can build on this. This is another one we can build from."
Darren Erman is in the Warriors' locker room, chatting up players, and Brian Scalabrine is in the hall with owner Joe Lacob.
Gerald Wallace and Avery Bradley both noted the chance to finish the road trip at 4-2. Utah and Minnesota next.
Bradley looks like a boxer with both hands wrapped. Said he jammed his left thumb and has had bruises on his right hand for a while.
Sully RE: confidence vs GSW: "Very confident. We know we can play with the top teams in the NBA... Only a matter of time before they're Ws."
I just turned on Miss Universe for first time tonight. Miss Colombia. Yep, I get it.
Back to reality. Lakers are down 20.
