How soon do the Hornets resort to hack-a-Crash?
Isaiah Thomas takes another fall--this one on his stomach. Bounces right back up. Seconds later drains a 3. 90-71 Bos.
Henderson given Flagrant 1 for shot on Wallace, who misses both free throws, making Crash 0-4 from line.
Wallace takes a shot in the back from Gerald Henderson that was so hard, it made Isaiah Thomas wince. Thomas had words for Henderson, too.
That looked pretty dirty, Gerald Henderson.
The nonstop buzzing hornet noises they play here will def give me some crazy dreams about being attacked by bees tonight.
The Celtics are on top of the Hornets 85-69 after three quarters. Avery Bradley is heating it up with a game-high 26 points.
Celtics 85, Hornets 69. End 3rd. 26 points for Avery Bradley. One video game block for Marcus Smart.
Crowd gets a little angry after that Bass dunk. Generous boos. Biggest ahhs of the night for that Smart block.
Avery Bradley has 26 points in the third quarter. Career high is 32.
This starting lineup was on thin ice entering tonight game. Big-time response, especially here in the third quarter.
Avery Bradley with 26 points, 15 of them in the third quarter. Still 3:12 left in the third.
Marcus Smart with an awesome block, Avery Bradley benefits at the other end with a three. Heck of a sequence.
That was a man's rebound by Marcus Smart. Then hurries over to help up Brandon Bass after foul.
I mean, Big Al was being covered by five guys all 6-foot-3 or smaller, just not even noticing his defenders' existence.
Those Big Al high school highlights were hilarious, @csnne.
Avery Bradley with 7 points in the last 1:46. Not sure that any of the three shots touched the rim. Feeling it.
Bradley heating up. 3 jumpers in 3rd, 8 points.
Five quick points to start the second half and the Celtics suddenly have a 61-44 lead. Timeout, Hornets.
That was a rare (and nice) Marcus Smart finish in transition, guys.
Celtics 56, Hornets 44. Halftime. Good energy that half for the C's. Starters opened the game shooting 9-for-13.
It's halftime in Charlotte, where the Celtics lead the Hornets 56-44. Bradley has 11 pts, Smart has 9. Thomas: 6 asts http://t.co/L4ih9ZRtUM
Celtics are really going to need to petition the NBA to have the regular season consist of 41 back-to-backs if they keep this up.
Marcus Smart nodding head & owning the steal-to-giveaway sequence as he goes to bench during TO. Still a strong start for the rook.50-37 Bos
Wallace, back in the arena where he first earned the nickname Crash, dunks off the break. Team swarms him like Tom Brady at next timeout.
Alternate tweet: Gerald Wallace???
Oh wow. Fans were mockingly chanting Gerald Wallace's name earlier. Then he turns back the clock with that alley-oop. 46-37 Bos.
Gerald Wallace is alive! Holy cow!
Crash alley oop?
I would ride this lineup (or something similar with shooting/skill) as long as it can go. Gotta get some stops, though.
This Jerebko-Olynyk lineup getting all kinds of good looks at the arc. Hornets go to a zone.
Gerald Wallace rewarding Brad Stevens with his faith in him with some big offensive boards.
Avery Bradley and Jae Crowder each have seven points and the Celtics lead the Hornets 26-24 after the first quarter.
Celtics 26, Hornets 24. End 1st. Boston shooting 54.5 percent.
Hey there, Gerald Wallace, offensive rebounding (and free throw bricking) machine. Also, Maxiell can't handle Crowder.
Why you can hear Scal on our broadcast tonight... http://t.co/UVP0cZahQz
So, this is actually a thing... Best Turnover Rate – NBA history 1. 2012 Philadelphia 2. 2003 Dallas 3. 2015 CHARLOTTE 4. 2004 Dallas
That foul call on Bass was whistled about 4 seconds after Walker released that shot.
They called that foul INCREDIBLY late, though.
It's on now. Broadcast business about to seriously pick up here in Charlotte. @bojangles1977 http://t.co/Qruf3jTKgD
Unlike last night, Celtics start hot. Cs hit five of their first six shots, with nearly all coming from the midrange to take 10-2 lead.
So that's one thing about the Celtics' recent slow starts - they've opened up hitting shots, 5-6 in the first 3:25.
Quick start for the Celtics who lead the HORNETS. 10-2. Ha.
This game has started as a midrange jumper shootout.
Get Ridiculous, indeed. http://t.co/CfCKMktrSa
Isaiah Thomas woke up a little sore from Sunday's fall and was worried about swelling on the flight here, but said he got through it OK.
BTW, Brad Stevens still does NOT view games against other playoff hopefuls any differently than the others, if you were wondering.
With a win tonight, the Hornets would take the season series from the Celtics, 3-1, and own the 1st tiebreaker.
Kidd-Gilchrist also out, but Al Jefferson will play.
Cody Zeller out tonight, per the Hornets. Marvin Williams will start.
I think Stevens is trying not to overreact to expected losses. OKC/SAS/LAC all expected. MIA was bad, but that was with Thomas at his worst.
Unless you think the Cs should start Gigi, Gigi, Gigi, Gigi and Gigi, in which case I think Banner 18 could become reality sooner than later
...Do you put in Crowder at 4 and Thomas in the backcourt? Does that kill the bench? It's not as easy as, well, starters haven't been good.
...If you put in Thomas, you might have to switch a lot. He's better with space, so playing with Bass/Zeller/Turner/whoever isn't ideal. ...
I'm not sure the Celtics would benefit from changing their starting lineup, but I probably would have tried it anyway.
