What's the biggest thing Sullinger took from the preseason? "We play like a team."
Stevens doesn't give any percentages on Rondo's return. "We'll know more after practice Friday."
Stevens: "we're not an isolation team and I think our guys have really embraced that early in the season."
Brad Stevens says that he loves the fact that Marcus Smart is "always aggressive" at both ends of the floor.
Stevens on Smart: "he's always aggressive, so you can live with a bad shot here and there."
Stevens on Sully: "He’s worked hard to improve his skill... He still can get better. You don’t want this to be the highlight of your year."
Stevens on Sully: He’s worked hard to improve his skill and he’s worked hard to do a lot of things, especially on the defensive side.
The Celtics close out the preseason with a 5-3 record thanks to a 100-86 win over the Nets. Smart: 16 pts, 4 asts. Sully: 15 pts, 17 rebs.
But Sully is on the bench and likely won’t be getting that rebound.
Not saying it's cold here in the Garden, but could have sworn Zdeno Chara just skated by.
S/O to a cool dude I met at tonight's game named Wilkins "Bishop" Morency.
Those at Celts' exhibition game getting taste of regular season games in some other cities. C's still an RS draw in bad times.
With the way that Bass is hitting the three, his typical 18 footer seems almost bland now.
Tim Frazier still on the roster, still getting minutes.
The Celtics are blowing the Nets out through three quarters, 84-68. Sullinger's up to 13 points, 14 rebounds. Wallace has 10 points, 4 asts.
Has to be the first time in his career Bass has made a 3 with more than 3 seconds on the shot clock.
Bass has hit as many 3s this preseason as he has hit to this point in his career. Just two, but still.
Bass knockin' down that corner 3 two games in a row!!!! Whatttttt
That Bass corner three is one of the most important developments of the preseason.
Brandon Bass corner 3s are real and they are awesome.
Second half starts with Turner, Pressey, Thornton, Sullinger, Bass.
Jared Sullinger (Seven points, 13 rebounds) and Marcus Smart (16 points, 4 assists, 2 steals) lead the Celtics to a 58-44 halftime lead.
Sullinger's rebound-minutes ratio now 13-11.
Can we get a head count on how many people genuinely love watching Wallace play? I feel pretty lonely here.
Gerald Wallace two-handed tap on the fast break! Then he double-dribbled on the next one but nobody called it! And he scored again!
Gerald Wallace putting his stamp on this game. Yup.
Smart excelling with offense inside the arc, which is nice. Three-quarters of his shots entering tonight had been 3-pointers.
The Gerald Wallace-Marcus Smart two-man game is not stoppable against human opposition.
Fool me once….
That was a laugh out loud defensive play.
If Sullinger only played the preseason Nets he might average 20 and 20 and be declared undisputed king of the basketball world.
"See, Waiters is trying to score the basketball." Grumpy uncle Hubie getting right to the point.
Tip gives Sullinger nine rebounds in eight minutes.
Young just got turn-styled on the baseline by Marquis Teague.
Gerald Wallace is on the court w/Marcus Smart and James Young. He has 24,445 more minutes of NBA reg. season playing time than the rookies.
And the under wins!
Young checks in with 8:45 left for Marcus Thornton.
James Young time! Over/under of 57 seconds before he fires a jumper.
Young expected to get generous minutes tonight. Yet to play with 9:22 left in half, and having hamstring stretched out on sideline.
The Nets have four international players on the court. Always interested to watch different styles of basketball come together.
We're knotted up at 25-25 after the first. Green lead the Celtics w/ 8 pts, while Sullinger has 6 rebs. C's D limited Nets to 36.8% shooting
The Thunder exercised 3rd-year options on Steven Adams and Andre Roberson, 4th-year options on Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb.
Then Green takes a charge two plays later. Great to see that out of him.
Old school. Courtside. When NBA radio was NBA radio. http://t.co/r61s64pjZ0
Once Marcus Smart settles into the NBA, he is going to pose some serious matchup problems with his size.
Great hustle by Jeff Green there to swat away the layup after an ugly turnover at the other end.
