Lotta venom in the in box. Did people get this mad at Grant Hill when he had stops and starts trying to come back from serious injuries?
Wheels up headed to Boston! Go Bulls!
We all want Rose to succeed. Unfortunately, too many with a voice and a blog allow that to cloud up reality. Human nature, I guess.
Happy Thanksgiving week to my fellow NBA broadcasters. Safe travels and easy on the gravy!
Ask the Spurs how that Finals would have gone last summer without Leonard flat-out dominating. It's a wing game.
Show me Chris Paul's rings, then we'll talk. This is a forward-driven league, and Butler is basically a SF playing big guard.
Rose should be a piece, not the focus. Always felt that was a bad hand to be all-in on. Tony Parker is just a piece in the machine.
The one positive Bulls fans should be embracing? Butler's star rising. Teams that are point-guard driven haven't won a chip in years.
Jimmy Butler said it best yesterday: "Stars play heavy minutes." Always have. MJ, Pippen, Zeke, Duncan as a youngster. Comes with the job.
Your 55 mph fastball works on your friends and blog readers. Not in the real NBA world.
And one little tip for all those minutes watch dogs: it's a witch hunt stat that those on the outside cling onto for water cooler talk.
Tell Oklahoma City the games don't count in November and there's no urgency.
Good morning. Make it a great day. Psalm 25
All Rose is now is a skipping stone. A few splash plays, a ripple, and it's gone.
That's at least a two-month process. Thibs knows that and that's why there's an urgency.
Rose first has to play without fear, then do so in consecutive games. Then gel with the team, offensively and defensively.
Those that are screaming the "it's a long season" card are missing that. Clock is ticking and there are no shortcuts.
For Rose to reach the top of the mountain again he must experience the bumps and bruises getting to the first base camp.
If this was any other athlete in Chicago there would be complete outrage. Free pass time is tired. It's been tired.
As many begin a long Thanksgiving holiday please be safe and enjoy this period with family and friends . Special shout to Bulls-UC employees
The only one showing the best interest in Rose right now is his coach. Everyone else is catering to a man that needs a look in the mirror.
It will be nice when adult discussions concerning Derrick Rose can take place without fans being offended because "He's Chicago, Dog!"
Lakers and forward Earl Clark have had a level of dialogue on possible reunion, sources tell RealGM. No deal yet. Clark: 29 PPG in D-League.
When storms enter your world know that tranquility, peace and mercy are near . Psalm 46
Thanks for listening Bulls fans. Great effort tonight just came up short. Working on Celtics -Bulls notes. Love it. Friday 1130AM CT pre
Butler:"I like role players. "Star" has never been next to Jimmy Butler's name, it never will be. I'm always be just an under the radar dog"
Butler's response to Thibs' praise: "I'm not a star. I'm a good role player on a really, really good team. A really, really, deep team ..."
Thibs w/high praise for Butler "He's been incredible. He's a star. And he does it on both ends of the floor. He's just an amazing player."
And if the two sides were actually talking, there would be a candid discussion on what went down tonight.
I'm sure the front office isn't pleased with Thibs' honesty, especially after they sent word to the media it was "hamstring tightness.''
Rose needs to play every game possible. Those that don't understand that, well, Bears play Thursday. Enjoy.
What we saw tonight was Thibs seeing his star drowning, so he threw him a life preserver. And these games are meaningless?
Rose: "It wasn't nothing like I'm limping or I pulled it or anything ... it was just that I wasn't moving the way I wanted to."
Rose on not playing 2nd half: "Just trying to be smart. Back-to-back, got fatigued, and didn't want to take any steps back."
"The way the game was going, the way we were going, I just felt at that point I wanted to go a different way.’’ Thibs. Sure, not a benching.
"...Fatigue-wise and just trying to be smart.’’ More Rose. Note to other NBA point guards. SLOW DOWN! Playing way too fast!!!
"I felt like I couldn’t get to where I wanted to go, and defensively, just the speed of the game, just wasn’t ready for it. ... '' Rose
"I have no setback, no pain. It was just fatigue, and like I said just trying to be smart.’’ Rose on why he didn't play second half.
Rose's USA Basketball experience was supposed to prevent all this stop-and-go, out-and-in.
Rose: "Just tired on both ends of the floor.''
Rose admitted the past month has been both frustrating and humbling. Just wanted to be cautious with his latest setback.
Rose admitted he's humbled by all of this.
Thibs said post game he preferred to be cautious and told Rose not to play in the second half. No specific additional injury, Thibodeau said
Rose said with treatment and a couple days off he is hopeful to play in Boston.
Thibs protecting his guy as best he could, but Rose even admitted game was too fast.
Rose said he didn't feel anything pop or pull. Said Thibs came to him at halftime with the idea to sit and he agreed.
Rose said he's not injured. For sure playing in Boston Friday. Thibs approached him with the idea at half so rip cord pulled.
"speed of the game, just wasn't ready for it." Rose.
Thibs doesn't think Rose will need another MRI. Hopes rest will get his body back in order after a couple days off.
"The defense and the speed of the game." Thibs on why Rose was pulled.
Thibs says he didn't think Rose re-injured anything. Just wanted to be cautious about the hamstring.
That was a benching folks, not so much an injury. Wow.
Thibs says Rose will be re-examined. Doesn't sound concerned. Says he just didn't want to take a chance on Rose's health.
Bulls lose--great effort but Denver prevails 114-109 Buter tied career high 32 set career highs in fta ftm 18-20 Gasol dbl-dbl 22-11
Bulls lose 114-109. As usual, the game is secondary to the Rose health update that Thibs will give in a few minutes.
Butler ties career high with 32nd point on 13 shots. 18-20 from the line. Bulls within 3 with 23.5 seconds left; Lawson then makes jumper
People won't remember this because of the Rose news -- but Jimmy Butler has 32 points and is 18-for-20 from the foul line tonight.
Butler now 17-19 from the line
Butler with 17FTA...that deserves a WOWZA
Keep listening http://t.co/0d71nguvjV
Done tweeting rest of the game ... tightness in my pinky finger.
Rose has not started and finished two consecutive games yet this season.
86-76 Denver we go to the 4th..,. Butler 21points
You want a true idol to worship on this team to make you feel like a fan? Pick Butler. Foxhole guy, Chicago tough.
... by his locker, made noises that a 25-year-old man shouldn't make, limped to the shower, and was shooting in an early group tonight.
Just for background, after playing super hero last night in Utah, pulling tape off his shoulder and thumb, Butler leaned against the wall...
...at least until he's playing for the Cavs next season.
Here's an idea ... how about people start putting Jimmy Butler on that pedestal ...
Denver 79-72 219 left 3rd Butler at the line where he's 9-11fts
For all you Rose critics ... maybe you're forgetting all the titles he's brought to the city. SIT DOWN AND BE QUIET!!
Hinrich takes another shot in the chest and leaves game.
Rose with hamstring tightness. Wade's been off seven games with hamstring tightness. Tough Rose going back to back. Skip rest of trip?
Denver 64-61 7min left 3rd
Cameron Bairstow has taken over this game! Offensive rebound, baseline jumper, block on Faried. Surpasses Longley as top Bulls Aussie
Sure, Hinrich is gutting through a chest contusion right now, but hey, who really wants to have a meeting with Hinrich in 15 years?
Rose left hamstring tightness will not return
Rose - left hamstring tightness - will not return.
Bulls PR says Rose has left hamstring tightness and will not return to the game.
Hinrich starting second half for Rose; Rose stays back in locker room
Unclear why Rose isn't with the team -- he's not on the bench -- but he looked disinterested in 1st half and lacked aggression.
Keeping my positive theme alive and well - 15 years from now, no one in that meeting room will be more comfortable than Rose.
Rose didn't take part in warmups with his teammates at halftime. Hinrich starts the 2nd half at the point.
Rose not on floor to start 2nd half..Hinrich starts
No rose to start the second half. Hinrich starting.
Was late coming out for second half last night, too. Maybe pacing himself.
Sure, Rose could be done for the night. I'd like to think he went back to Chicago to lay hands on Gibson and heal him.
No Rose on the court for warm-ups. Warm-ups are overrated.
