... guess who was waiting in the locker room for him, advising him to sit out much longer than last time ... Paging, Dr. Rose.....
As always thanks for listening Bulls fans. Up next at Utah Monday 730CT pre Bulls Radio Network ESPN 1000
Gibson comes into locker room on crutches in walking boot.
Good news: Gibson injury doesn't feel worse than when he did it in Cleveland. Same ankle. But the bad news ...
Gibson said X-rays were negative but definitely sounded like someone who needs to get ankle right. This is third time he has sprained it.
Gibson said he had x-rays on the ankle. They were negative.
Gibson on crutches and in a walking boot.
Taj Gibson on crutches and in walking boot.
Dunleavy very good on flagrant foul. Said he was merely trying to stop action with Noah on ground. Called Lillard "nice kid." Showed remorse
Thibs is hopeful Gibson's ankle injury isn't serious. Says he's day to day. Seems like everyone is at this point.
Bulls lost 7th straight in Portland. Mirotic with 24 points and 11 rebounds.
The Bulls have now lost seven straight games in Portland.
102-84 Portland 2min left
Lillard a plus 40 tonight
Niko makes peacemaker on his own foul. Didn't go to Duke.
Nazr banged up and no one cares. Poor Naz.
Sad part for Bulls is that it's same tunnel that Rose limped into last season when he blew out his knee. A lot of concern on Bulls' bench
At the start of camp, McDermott was definitely ahead of Mirotic. Guess who caught up and passed?
Same lineup that produced 2nd-quarter burst. Snell, Moore, Mohammed, Mirotic, McDermott. Assume they finish, w/ possible dash of Bairstow.
He was on crutches headed back to the locker room after being examined. Still appears to be in a lot of pain.
Butler done for McBuckets.
Bulls say Taj Gibson has a left ankle sprain and will not return.
According to Bulls PR, Taj Gibson suffered a sprained left ankle and won't return.
Gibson left ankle sprain will not return
Gibson is out for the rest of the game, obviously. Left ankle sprain.
Portland 89-65 after 3
Jimmy .... last starter standing....
Need Butler pulled asap.
...shooting free throws.....he's done.
Noah still playing. Wow.
As John Winger famously said, "...and then depression set in." Bulls fall behind 84-58 w/Rose, Gasol, Hinrich and Gibson now all injured
Keep Dunleavy in. He's turning into Dalton from Road House.
Time for Thibs to pull the starters and play for another day. The last thing the Bulls need is for somebody else to get hurt in Portland.
Nazr coming in. Noah should be done.
Bulls PR will have Taj Gibson update shortly.
I'm going Gasol back first, Hinrich second, Gibson 3rd, The Rose 4th.
So who is back first? Gasol, Gibson, Rose or Hinrich.
Bulls have lost yet another player. Gibson assisted to locker room with apparent ankle- leg injury
Gibson in a lot of pain going towards tunnel. Tried to put his left foot down on the way back and could barely put weight on it.
Damn you Moda Center!!! Damn you all !!! This place is cursed.
Gibson putting almost no weight on his ankle. Being carried off by Mirotic and Mohammed.
Gibson being helped off by Mohammed and Mirotic. Isn't putting weight on left ankle. Same one he sprained vs. Cavs.
Gibson being carried off by teammates with left leg off ground
Same ankle he messed up against Cleveland. Getting carried off the floor.
Entire Bulls team on floor gathered around Gibson
Gibson rolls ankle in agony on the floor
The entire Bulls' bench is on the floor to check on Gibson.
Gibson is on the ground writhing in pain and appears to be grabbing his left ankle.
Gibson down with a left ankle.
Gibson down with what looks like ankle sprain
Taj Gibson holding his left ankle.
Haven't seen a block like that since C. Thomas Howell was in "Side Out.''
Bulls have two offdays before Jazz on Monday. Intrigued to see when, and if, Thibodeau pulls the starters.
Crowd booing Mike Dunleavy, who was a state champion in high school here after incident with Lillard. Who boos Mike Dunleavy?
It does that to Dukies every so often.
The Duke just came out of Dunleavy for a moment.
No ejections! Flagrant on Dunleavy for running over Lillard and then Matthews and Brooks technicals: 3 Portland shots and possession
Dunleavy gets a flagrant 1 foul. Lillard gets 3 shots and the Blazers get the ball back.
Thought that had flag 2 all over it.
Flagrant one on Dunleavy and offsetting Ts on Wes Matthews and Brooks. Don't agree with that call. Dunleavy should've been tossed.
Dunleavy stays ...
Meanwhile, "Boogie'' is sitting at home, saying ... "I told you about that Dunleavy ... I told everyone!!!''
Those battlin' Bulls: More contretempts. Ejections likely coming perhaps for Dunleavy and Brooks and Portland Matthews while 63-45 Portland
Meanwhile, Noah appears to be OK -- but he has taken way too many hard falls this year.
Was told Aaron Brooks had crazy eyes before he signed with the Bulls. Finally had a chance to see them.
Replay being shown -- Dunleavy fouled Lillard hard. Matthews came over and pushed Dunleavy. Crowd is not happy.
Nobody left Bulls' bench area. But assume that will be a flagrant 2 on Dunleavy.
That's an ejection.
Goodell just fined Dunleavy $25,000.
... Dunleavy might have an early night.
Noah fell hard on the floor and Bulls ended up getting into shoving match around center court. Couldn't see exactly who was involved.
Noah hurt, tempers turn ugly.
Some Portland fan convinced Pau Gasol to take a selfie with him as Gasol walked to bench to start 2nd half. Don't worry, he gave a thumbs up
Unfortunately, they are going to continue play.
Portland 61-43. Lillard having a monster game
61-43 at the half. Bad, bad, bad ... Varsity beating up the freshmen team. Play the young guys, live to see another day.
Noah is a minus-21, but Mirotic's beard is a +15. So that's good.
Plus/minus for Lillard tonight ... +35. Wow.
Noah and Butler in but doesn't do much to stop 14-0 Portland run for 59-39 lead w/1:39 in half. Hear orange slices at halftime look good
With Lillard on the floor Blazers have out scored the Bulls50-15. Wow
The wheels have come off again for Bulls. Blazers up 20. Noah and Butler have been non-factors tonight.
Not a good night for the Noah knee ... coming off the back-to-back ... and Snell just got put on a fathead.
Noah just got Lillard!
Portland got its starters back in; Thibs tries to ride the Four M's and Tony a bit longer. Oh well. Back to 51-39 Portland.
Just got Lillard!
Bulls' 2nd unit has played very well but it's time for Thibs to go back to starting group. Blazers have all the momentum again.
Paul Allen cross-promotion. Blazers have a Seahawks night at the end of the month when fans can get a picture with Lombardi trophy.
Four M's and Tony M. Snell get Bulls within 39-35 w/7:18 in half.
Ride it out Thibs! Let the kids grow up.
Eat that, @Sun-times_hoops!
I'm loving this Bulls second unit right now!
