HoopsHype Chicago Bulls twitter
Hinrich's 3rd foul Bulls 51-46 late 1st half
Taj and Kirk making it happen.
If you're here at the UC..you're making this place rock
Taj Gibson is a man...when he has the ball near the rim get out of the way or you're on a poster
Taj Gibson is starting to feel it. He's got 8 points and 4 rebounds. Looks like he's going to start going crazy -- in a good way for Bulls.
Bulls 49-44..232 left 1st half Taj with 8pts 4 reb DJ 9pts 7-7 fts
Taj providing a big lift, back-to-back buckets...Bulls have some momentum
This is like a preseason game free throw pace -- 33 so far
Bulls take 1st lead
DJ at stripe 5-5fts tied at 40
Wizards playing football out here.
Bulls have closed the FTA gap to 15-14
Wonder how long Thibs lets Jimmy rest.
Maybe that gets him going a little.
Votes already in and small sample size, but for people who don't see Jo much, this Nene 1st 1/2 might make them think he isn't DPOY-worthy.
Wizards 37-35 556 left 1st half Nene with 14pts Boozer-Butler each with 9
Nene is killing the Bulls. He's got 14 already. Bulls don't have an answer right now.
Surprised at this stat from today's Washington Post -- Andre Miller is 0-9 in playoff series over his career.
Both teams in penalty with 8:18 left in second quarter. Officials get time and a half for long game
Jimmy Butler's activity in lanes--second steal on skip pass--and helping on boards w/team hi 4 keeping Bulls in, down 30-29
Jimmy's doing everything right now...we already know he comes to play in the postseason from last year
Butler playing out of his mind....incredible energy
Jimmy Butler has had a solid first half -- on both ends. Very aggressive and looks confident. He's got 9 points already.
Nene picks up his 2nd foul..Butler's second steal. Bulls down 30-29 845 left 2nd Q
If he keeps playing like this, Jimmy Butler might not come out the entire postseason.
That's two fouls on Nene
Jo gets on the board.
Wizards shooting Bulls 5 team fouls
Fortunately for Bulls, Wizards are just 7 for 14 at foul line.
As Thibs would say: The Bulls are getting some "tough whistles" right now. Wiz are just 7-for-13 from the line.
Holy cow, Wizards in bonus at 9:32 mark of 2ndQ. FTs are already 14-3.
Nazr's 3rd foul in 2 min 2nd Q
Bulls in penalty for 9:32.
Webster looks a bit shaken up, misses the FT...Bulls don't get goaltend on Jimmy drive and foul
Webster looks a bit shaken up, misses the FT.
Snell hits first playoff jumper, but gives Martell Webster a 4-pt opportunity
Tony hits his 1st-ever playoff shot attempt, then fouls Webster on a trey on the next possession.
Beal over DJ in the post...a lot of size vs. him on D (Wall and Miller at the 1, Beal if he switches)
Seems mandatory to have "ageless" and "Andre Miller" in the same sentence. Or at least "crafty."
Bulls did well to get out of that 1stQ trailing by 2. Boozer off to good start w/ 9 pts. Tony Snell getting his first playoff run.
Jimmy is queitly going to work early.
Same old Bulls. Where would they be without Carlos Boozer, leading team w/9 pts and tied most rebs and assists. 24-22 Wiz after one
Wizards 24-22 end of 1 Boozer with 9pts Nene with 8 Bulls 43% yet down by only 2
Boozer has averaged 17.6 points and 11.3 rebounds in 78 career playoff games.
Boozer off to a very good start for the Bulls. He's got 9 points and 3 rebounds -- providing some solid offense.
Thibs will talk about floor balance at halftime based off that Wizards break...meanwhile, Dunleavy is 0-5 now
Brutal 1stQ for Dunleavy
In the pre-series media lectures from Thibodeau about underestimating Wizards, Ariza and Gortat were close.
Booker the 1st Wizards big off the bench, replaced Nene...wonder who comes in next between Gooden and Harrington
Wizards are one of league's worst in getting to line, but lead in FTAs 7-0 so far. Bulls top scorer (Hinrich w/ 5 pts) is on bench w/2 fouls
Bulls are 6-for-16 from the floor. They've got to find the guy who will get them out of shooting slumps in the playoffs.
Mike Dunleavy, whose Dad is in the house, hasn't been close yet on his first 4 attempts.
Bad news when Trevor Booker starts knocking down jumpers. Bulls 6-16 FGs, Wiz 7-14. Wash up 19-13 late 1stQ.
Wizards 19-13 258 left 1st Q Bulls 37%fg have yet to go to the line
Kirk picks up his 2nd, DJ checks in...Bulls already in penalty
DJ coming in a tad earlier than his usual rotation turn with Hinrich drawing 2nd foul.
Safe to say Nene's 100 percent.
Bulls having trouble with Nene; may have written "Hilario" on scouting reports, thus confusing players. 12-8 Wiz
Wizards 12 Bulls 8--533 left Nene-8pts Boozer 4 and 2 reb
Dunleavy looks a little nervous early. Can't blame him. It's probably one of the biggest games he's been in since he was at Duke.
Dunleavy way off on his 1st 2 attempts.
Clamping down on those pick-and-rolls is a big part of Bulls success in this series. They let Nene get away on that dunk.
Yeah, the Wizards don't seem nervous so far.
Jimmy gets the Bulls on the board.
Nene with the 1st 2 buckets of the game.
Nene quiets the UC to start the scoring in Game 1.
At least on the opening possession, Noah on Nene. Boozer on Gortat. Noah defended Nene well during season, not so much Gortat.
Bulls intro. Notice even with his clear No. 1 status & popularity, Noah continues to ask to be introduced third, in the middle, for centers.
The fans at the UC are rocking early. Joakim Noah gets a huge ovation.

Always interesting to see how much tighter some players/coaches/execs get at the start of the playoffs. A different feel before games.
Starters for Game 1: Wizards: Ariza, Nene, Gortat, Beal, Wall. Bulls: Dunleavy, Boozer, Noah, Butler and Hinrich.
Nene is starting for the Wizards.
Nene did not play in last meeting, when Bulls romped on Apr. 5. The last time he did play vs. Bulls, he hit 3 of 15 shots on Jan. 17.
Nene listed as a starter vs. Bulls.
Nene is listed as Wizards starter. He was going to play more than Trevor Booker, anyway.
Steve Kerr dressed in a tribute to Sager. Solid. Didn't get pic but check the TNT telecast.
Fun fact: Since 1982, Wizards have won 1 playoff series (vs. Bulls in '05). Bulls have won 35 playoff series since '82.
Wash coach Randy Wittman wouldn't say whether he'll start Nene (instead of Trevor Booker, presumably).
Thibs got another pregame question about Wizards playoff inexperience. They have six rotation guys with 40+ games & two who played in Finals
Thanks Twitter world on the Pops tribute. You re appreciated. Great response !
Can anyone tweet the video of Pops talking about Craig Sager. Thank you .
"Now all the criminals in their coats and their ties/Are free to drink martinis and watch the sun rise . . ."
Go Bulls ! http://t.co/8eFvtGkXXm
Welcome to the playoffs ! http://t.co/BJtY8Y3iWP
Ridiculous that NBA hasn't fixed that issue. It makes the refs look bad when they're reviewing missed calls but can't fix them.
But defender never touched ball, so replay is conclusive -- the ball went out of bounds off Rose.
It's been about 4 yrs since the Bulls game vs. Nets where Rose lost ball late and replays showed he lost it because defender grabbed his arm
I brought that up with Joey Crawford one year when the refs have their preseason availability. Didn't get very far.
Sure hope the NBA fixes the replay ssytem. League sent out the expected "Chris Paul was fouled, but that's not reviewable" memo today.
Happy Easter everyone.
Jimmy Butler said his body gets used to playing 48 minutes a night during the playoffs. The regular season definitely prepped him for that.
Even MJ is ready for the playoffs. http://t.co/uQ6251wt28
