Dumars (cont).: The same people that touted you, you’ll take some knocks. We haven’t gotten it right so that just comes with it.

Dumars on criticism: When you don’t have success, you open yourself up to all of those kinds of things. That comes when you’re struggling.

#Pistons Dumars asked if he ever felt his job was in jeopardy. His response: No no not at all. It wasn't even a subject. Never came up.

Dumars: There were coaches out there that we didn't go with that really really wanted the job

Dumars: 100 percent consensus on Cheeks from ownership and front office. #Pistons

Cheeks mentions Knight and Stuckey when asked about point guards but no mention of Calderon #Pistons

Cheeks: "Brandon (Knight) has some point-guard skills, he has some two-guard skills. ... I'm not gonna label Brandon as just a PG."

Dumars: "100-percent consensus" on Cheeks, no dissent.

Dumars: this was a 100 percent consensus. Phil was on board with it (Jackson) and Mo spent a lot if time with Tom Gores

Dumars: I do think you have to have a coach that makes a connection to today's player. They have to believe in you.

Dumars: "I think you have to have a coach who makes that connection with today's player." -- his big (maybe biggest) beef w/Frank.

Cheeks: "We have to think positive here...We can't have that negative thinking part," regarding trepidation about coaching.

Cheeks, on trepidation, given recent coaching history: "If we thought like that, no one would be coaching."

Dumars: There is always skepticism.

Cheeks had a conversation with a player about accountability yesterday. That player was Kim English.

Dumars, on why people should be confident in Cheeks: "I think people are always skeptical until you prove yourself."

Cheeks: This team has a lot of young talent. They need to play night in and night out. Accountability.

Cheeks: Everything u go through is a learning experience. I have to put my own stamp on this team. Unselfish and committed to the team

Cheeks: It's a challenge. I can't wait to get started

Cheeks: "It's a challenge...as he says, it was a long process, because I was leaving a great organization," in Oklahoma City.

Cheeks: "I'm excited to be here. The tradition of the Pistons is something I've known for a long time." Notes Dumars, Isiah.

Dumars: Mo has a steady hand. This is exactly what we need.

Dumars: "We are committed to trying to get back, we are committed to trying to get our team back to performing at the highest level."

Dumars: It was a very long process. We wanted to make sure we took our time. We feel like we got the right guy. #Pistons

Dumars: "Very long process, and the reason it was such a long process is we were just trying to get the coaching situation right."
