Arrived at Levi ... I'm being hazed
Sometimes I look at my folks and think "I'm very lucky to have them"

Uh oh, they're setting up the crepes stand in the pressbox. I fear for a few media people's cholesterol count.

I'm talking about the entirety of this summer. If you're a difference-maker as a rookie, you usually show it in camp and preseason games.
I remember asking Joe Staley about Aldon Smith after his first few practices in 2011. Staley told me flat out that Smith would be dominant.
Don't want to pick on Mack, but look at what Clowney did last night. Go back to Aldon Smith's rookie camp. Stars usually show it right away.
Bill Gates wins the ice bucket challenge creativity award
Note: In their last 9 games with Cespedes in the lineup, the A's went 5-4 vs. HOU and TEX, maybe the two worst teams in baseball.
The A's have missed/will miss Cespedes' dynamism. But let's see them over a longer period before deciding he was the key to everything.
From the All-Star break through July 31, the A's went 7-5... with 9 of those games coming vs. HOU and TEX. The slump began before the trade.
Too many Average Joes trying to emulate Tiger out there on course. I'm talking about that glacial pace of play.

Nemanja Nedovic's foot injury described as a "delicate" one, a Serbian official said at a press conference Friday.
Channel the game on?
It's Saturday Aug. 16 and Giants-Phillies is the only true day game on the MLB schedule. I don't understand this.
Giants now at 49.8% on ESPN's playoff chances. First time they've been under 50% this season that I can remember.
"you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take" - @officialgretzky
I point it out because so much of Raiders fandom can run on pure fury... at times the team has embraced it... & it has gotten them nowhere.
We all saw Carr point to his ribs. But Dennis Allen--who speaks for, you know, the team--said it was a concussion. Is he a Raider-hater too?
Too many greys in my fro

Allen on report that Carr hurt his ribs: "He's got sore ribs ... But the concussion was why he was out of the game."
Allen: "Khalil Mack's going to be just fine"
Dennis Allen reveals Derek Carr had a concussion. That's the extent of what he'd say
Janikowski's extra point means THE RAIDERS WIN A PRESEASON GAME … Hollywood can't write this stuff better!!!
Thank you, SeaBass.
McGloin waits and scans and waits and scans and finds Brice Butler wide open for the game-tying TD.
Holmes doesn't look good at all today
So you can go helmet-to-helmet on a guy who is not a defenseless receiver. Yeah, that is totally in the spirit of concussion-prevention
Are they really not calling that helmet-to-helmet hit? What am I missing here?
Scott Simonson got leveled and lost the ball (and his helmet) on what looked like it was about to be the game-tying TD
Car walking off the field to the locker room, under his own power but with a slight limp. He waves to the crowd as he lefts
Carr going into the locker room with medical personnel.
Carr might be hurt.. McGloin now warming up.
Seattle has scored back-to-back TDs by Terrelle Pryor (44-yard run) and BJ Daniels (6-yard run). Preseason is weird.
Mo'Ne Davis just locked up Athlete of the Year.
Again, not reacting to JUST that last play, but it's pretty clear Derek Carr is going to be the Raiders' starting QB soon enough. Week 5? 6?
Greg Little held onto that like his life depended on catching it lol
That's not enough.
I'm happy to be an easy grader and say that Tuck, Rivera, Jones, Wisniewski, Woodson and MJD are good to pretty good. Mack & Carr could be.
Rogers and Woodley just looked OLD on that last play
Raiders would probably like to see Khalil Mack make a play in this half.
Carr coming in as QB.
Be furious at me. Demand that I praise the Raiders no matter what. Just tell me who their good players are.
Some Raiders fans are pointing out they didn't look great in preseason last year and played well in Week 1... OK, but they also went 4-12.
McFadden goes in behind Austin Howard … Raiders take advantage of the penalty blessing … some good calls on that drive
There's the screen pass the Raiders have set up--by letting rushers come at Schaub--all game. Nice gain for MJD.
Schaub got lucky on that one. Mathis was a half a step from a pick 6. … Woulda been all kinds of flashbacks for 8
I'm NOT going to rip the Raiders' season hopes just because of this performance. Time to fix this. But I just don't see many good players.
If the Raiders line is this bad, Schaub has no chance of being any good. But you CANNOT throw Carr out there with a bad line.
That's a great Raider Rationalization, actually: We've gone 4-12 the last two years yet all our guys are old!
Not just about this game, but the overall question that the Raiders cannot escape: How many good players do they actually have?
My golf game just doesn't wanna go away. Relentless.
Even on his two completions, Schaub had pressure in his face. Not a good showing from O-Line so far
OK, maybe I really DID jinx Schaub
On the bright side, the Raiders haven't committed a penalty yet.
Tarell Brown, geez
Tipped INT and there is murmuring among the 20,000 here. Don't know if it was that bad a throw by Schaub, though.
Granted, it's the first drive in a preseason game lol
This looks like the Schaub from two years ago
Schaubs takes after dumping it off to Streater. No. 8's made two straight completions with people in his face
MJD starts at running back, gets the first two carries
