Down 11 at halftime, Summer Rockets lead 61-54. And the crowd goes mild.
I decided to look up for awhile and Summer Rockets went on an 18-0 run. Andre Dawkins with some 3s. Covington hit one. Johnson finished.
Those wishing to move hopes to next free agent on Rockets wish list would be better off looking to 2015 than 'big' names left this summer.
Painful as it had to have been, was logic in Hou decision not to match. But to think, 3 days ago, they thought they'd have Bosh and Parsons.
Houston will always have a special place in my heart and I will never forget the memories. My teammates, I love you, thank you.
By the way, today marks one year to the day since the Rockets officially signed Dwight Howard.
This of course puts huge pressure on using cap room, Pels picks trade exception for Rockets to find that third piece.
Still, if Rockets had landed Bosh, they absolutely would have kept Parsons, believing they would not have had to worry about building.
Keeping flexibility to build was by far biggest factor in Rockets decision, but they also believed they needed Ariza's defense.
The decision largely came down to whether the Rockets were good enough with a big three of Harden, Howard and Parsons.
Rockets were torn over decision, source said, but ultimately decided they would not be a championship team and would have no room to build.
The Rockets will not match the offer sheet to keep Chandler Parsons, per source.
What a game, what a win ,what a goal ! Germany!!!
Champions of the world!!!
Brock Holt was 10-for-16 in the 3-game series against the Astros.
I told everyone that the kid will win !
Brock Holt. 5 hits today.
The kid win the cup!!!! Goallllllll
12 K's through 8 innings for Buchholz. I'm pretty sure the Red Sox will let him try to finish this one out.
Bucholz is just dealing. 95 pitches so far in the eighth inning. Just got his 11th K. No walks.
Bases-loaded walk to Big Papi makes it 8-0 Sox. Veras has thrown 8 of his 11 pitches so far for balls.
Let's go Germany! http://t.co/mYAfHF8uRc
Chris Carter. 9-game hitting streak now. If he can continue this after the All-Star break...
Glad to see Alfredo Simon make it on the NL side. 12-3 record with a 2.70 ERA. I mean, he should've been one of the picks to begin with.
Rockets are making the 3-day waiting period as painful as possible for Dallas. Mavs lost out on Deng, Ariza & it cost them Vince Carter.
Positive vibes only!!!
Lil bro bday tomorrow.
He always finds a way to look out for me.
Against her sister Nneka today, Chiney Ogwumike is a perfect 7-of-7 from the field with 14 points... about a minute until halftime.
That the 2nd round pick is the 2015 Clippers pick is good news for Rockets. That pick is weak -- will only be conveyed if between 51-55.
Lishouk is a 32-year-old center who played in Spain. Rockets had his rights in 2008.
LA GM Mitch Kupchak: “This trade allows us to acquire a solid player who will make us a better team, as well as draft picks to improve.”
No changes in deal as we reported at time -- Rockets send a protected first and a future second (from the Clippers) along with Lin.
Lakers announce the trade for Jeremy Lin is official. Rockets get the rights to Sergei Lishouk, who is not house hunting in Houston.
This is a nice few hours to see how far these ladies have come since their days at Cy-Fair HS. Back to NBA very shortly, promise :)
Also, thanks tweeps for letting me stray a little today. I started my career covering the WNBA. (Comets) and preps in Houston years ago.
For anyone interested, the Ogwumike showdown is on NBA TV this afternoon (before the World Cup!) and both sisters will be mic'd.
Will also be following NBA news today while working on a story about a pair of Houston women's basketball stars.
Tough first game back but we gone bounce back!!!! Feels good to be back playing and getting better
Other than a few Canaan balls, most interesting thing about this game for the Rockets has been Tony Nila trying to out-beard James Harden.
Rockets have really struggled to score since Canaan went out. You'd think Chris Finch would give Harden a few minutes off the bench.
Nick Johnson hit a 55-footer. Did not quite beat the buzzer.
