Even with the extension, is Sumlin TRULY off the market? If the right offer comes calling with the for-sure high buyout, u never know...
Looked at Chronicle sports section from 20 yrs ago. Included feature on college hoops phenom coming to town: Jason Kidd. I feel old. Again.
Chandler Parsons over the past 8 games: 17.5 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.3 apg, 63.9 FG% and 54.5 3FG%. Pretty decent for a dude dealing w/ back spasms.
LeBron's near 60/50/80 shooting start is superhuman. But from mere mortal perspective, Chandler Parsons' 55/39/77 November aint too shabby.
Who got a sidekick LX for me???
FYI this pic is what I posted here. http://t.co/IvVWAjy70X
At least the draft lottery, Knicks-Nets competition should be entertaining in New York. Oh, wait. Never mind.
OK, I know it's November. But the November's almost over and the East has three teams with winning records.
If Lakers miss playoffs w/ say 45 wins while an East team has homecourt with losing record, who screams loudest, ESPN, TNT or Adam Silver?
Bout to cop a sidekick on the low...
Big win tonight!! Wheels up to San Antonio!! http://t.co/590gyOd4mD
It's woo got damns!!!!!
Since inserting TJones into the starting lineup (9 games), Rockets are averaging 112.1 points per game, hitting 51.2% FG, 43% from three.
The Rockets' 14-game winning streak against the Nets now stands alone as the longest in franchise history against any single opponent.
Dwight on Rockets' 3-pt shooting: "I practiced w/them all summer. I told them 'Follow my lead, I'll teach you guys how to shoot the three.'"
Parsons: "After that last one, I felt like everything I threw up was going to go in. It was just one of those feelings."
After his 7 for 7 tonight, Chandler Parsons has made 64.4 % of his shots in past six games. He's up to 54.2 % shooting for season.
McHale said that had Jeremy Lin not gotten hurt, Harden likely would not have played tonight.
The 19 threes by the Rockets ties the second most in franchise history. Rockets hit 19 twice last season, both on the road (at PHO, at WAS).
114-95 Rockets win. It wasn't nearly that close. 7th win in 8 games for Houston. 5th straight home game Rockets haven't trailed at any point
Rockets 114, Nets 95. Lead reached 32. Hou 19 3-pointers, second most in franchise history. Rockets have not trailed in 5 straight home gms.
FINAL: Rockets 114, Nets 95. Rockets hit 19 threes, never trail for 5th straight home game. Parsons (21p) a perfect 6-6 3P.
Would anyone mind all that much if all Eastern Conference teams not named Miami and Indiana went on hiatus until the 2014-15 season?
Make it 18 threes for Rockets, 4th highest regular season total in franchise history. All 4 of those games happened in the last 10 months.
Casspi 3 gives the Rockets 18 with 4:25 left. Until last season, that would have been the franchise record.
Rockets have now hit 17 threes, tying their season high.
Parsons finished one 3-pointer shy of Brooks' franchise record for made 3-pointers without a miss. Parsons 6 of 6.
Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins receive loud and long cheers. Brings back memories.
Florida wins 69-66. But not before a close-call on a half-court heave by the Seminoles. Gators win. Parsons is gonna win. Good nite for CP25
Rockets 92, Nets 62 after 3. Rockets with 15 3s, eight from record.Starters done. No one played more than 27 minutes, but Asik prob will.
Meanwhile, Parsons' alma mater is tied with Florida State in hoops right now with 22 seconds left.
Rockets have hit 15 three-pointers and there's still a quarter left to be played. 92-62 Houston over Brooklyn heading to the 4th.
Chandler Parsons was 8-36 (22.2%) from three-point range in the first 9 games. He's 18-33 (54.5%) in the 8 games since.
Parsons sit with 21 points on 7 for 7 shooting, 6 of 6 from beyond the arc.
Asik tried to take the technical free throw. Brooks did not oblige.
Parsons is unconscious. 6-6 from deep, 21 points.
Rockets, crowd and I all seem bored. Still 14 1/2 minutes left. Won't be long until Brewer, D-Mo take over. Only healthy reserves left.
When you see how good Rockets look, can't help but wonder how in the world Terrence Jones only played 16 minutes total in the first 7 games.
Has there ever been a more extreme hoops juxtaposition than one HOU is about to face by going from game against BKN to one at Spurs tmrw?
If Nets starters are done, and it looks it, I we have to say Nets cleared bench at halftime. From throwing soda to throwing in the towel.
Rockets record for made fgs without a miss is Yao's 12. Parsons halfway there, but five of his 6 fgs have been 3s.
Chandler Parsons is now 5-5 from three-point range. 77-48 Rockets.
Howard picks up 4th foul with 8:30 left. With HOU up 28, he might be done for the night. Oh, did I mention that was 8:30 left in the 3Q?
Jason Kidd benches Paul Pierce, Andray Blatche, Joe Johnson and Shaun Livingston to start second half.
Halftime show -- Corey Rich, the world's greatest dribbler -- is really, really good. Just handled five balls better than most do one.
Rockes 66, Nets 40 at half. Rockets 11 of 18 on 3s. Until last season, franchise record for 3s in game was 17. Last season's 23 in reach.
Pick a Rocket, any Rocket -- they all looked like world-beaters vs. Brooklyn in 1H. HOU up 66-40, Parsons 5-5, 16 pts. HOU 11-18 from 3.
Rockets up 66-40 at half. Ridiculously lopsided. Rockets 11-18 (!) from 3P. Parsons 14p, Garcia 9p, Brooks, TJones, Dwight each 8p.
Nets break out some zone. A little unusual against a team with 10 3s in half. OK, make it 11 3s in a half. Parsons 4 for 4 from distance.
Only negative for Rockets tonight: Season-long issue with defensive rebounding continuing. Nets grabbing 37% of their misses so far in 1H.
Meanwhile, hugely impressive win by Arizona over Duke. Def felt like I was watching A) the Final Four and B) a ton of future NBA stars.
Aaron Brooks does not miss 3s at Toyota Center anymore. Over last 3 homes games, he's now 12-of-15 from beyond the arc.
In roughly two minutes, I would suggest Jason Kidd go from throwing a soda to throwing a fit. Weak showing.
Parsons is 4 of 4 for his 11 points. In past five-plus games, he's shooting 62.5 percent. Still bothered by back spasms, by the way.
When J-Kidd told KG he had the night off, did the entire Nets team think Kidd was talking to them?
Past two Rockets buckets: Harden lob to Jones for slam, Harden save ball from stands to Parsons 3. Rockets starters showing off.
Meanwhile, the Nets are a complete mess. Don't think this is what Paul Pierce expected.
2nd quarter recap: Harden flying into stands to save ball, Parsons hitting 3, Dwight playing air guitar, Nets despondently standing around.
Chandler Parsons is now 3-3 from long range, he's got 11 to lead all scorers. Rockets up 53-34, 3:54 2Q.
Loud ovation for Mario Elie who also is sitting courtside tonight.
Big cheers for Mario Elie. It was good to catch up with him today. Happy to be home for holidays, but I'd bet will coach again soon.
Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins of the Texans just walked in to their courtside seats.
A lotta people are comparing TJ McConnell to Aaron Craft. I see it. Competitor. Does the nitty gritty stuff to win games.
If Rockets chase 3-pointers record (have 7 in 19 min), would Jason Kidd intentionally foul way Mark Jackson did? Might throw a drink or two.
Yep, that looks like a Rockets shot chart all right. http://t.co/XlHcPruen3
And then I turn back to see Aaron Brooks BALLIN.
Oh my. Just flipped the channel to witness a beautiful alley oop from McConnell to Gordon. Zona starting to pull away from Duke a bit
Howard's T was for trying to kick ball to himself after he fouled Lopez. Lost control and it went forward. Nash should have taught him that.
33-17 Rockets after 1Q. Parsons, shooting better than 60 FG% last 7 games, is 3-3 for 8 pts. Complete domination so far.
Rockets 33, Nets 17 after 1. Rockets made 55 %. No surprise there. The surprise: just 3 turnovers. Parsons, Jones a combined 5 of 5, 14p.
Rockets used a 13-0 run to build a 33-17 lead after one. Hit 5-9 3P. Everyone playing well: Parsons 8p-5r, Dwight 6p-6r, TJones 6p-3blk.
Rockets have reached at least 30 points in first quarter in six of nine games since lineup change to start Jones. Up 33-15.
First quarter recap: This is not fair.
Howard hit with a T. Sean Corbin demonstrates a motion he considered improper. Brooks still chewing on Corbin.
Harden sits at the second dead-ball time out. Had usually gone entire first quarter. Brooks, Garcia, Casspi all in.
As have through 5-game home winning streak, Rockets dominating early. Lead 21-8. Nets 4 of 17. Rockets have not trailed at home in 204 min.
