Wednesday, May 22 Dangerous zone for the Pacers. Miami with a 12-2 burst to start the half, now ahead by five. Gotta hold it together.
Here's comes the flurry by the Heat. LeBron w 3 pointer off missed free throw and follow to give Miami 49-44 lead.
Troubling start to the half for the Pacers. West charged with his 4th foul less than two minutes in...
Barkley at halftime: Hibbert was very good, West was spectacular. They just pounded the Heat inside.
Pacers lead the Heat 42-37 at the break. West has 18pts, LeBron w/ 9 - all in the 1Q. West & Stephenson each have 3 fouls.
Pacers head into the half with a 42-37 lead. West w 18 points. Let me know what the TNT boys say at the half
Offensive fouls galore in this one -- this time on Stephenson for putting an arm into Andersen. His third. 25 combined turnovers now.
Lance just picked up his 3rd foul on a nice drive, but he was called for offensive foul for pushing off on Birdman
The Heat are just as sloppy with the ball as the Pacers. The South Florida boys have 13 turnovers.
Big offensive call there - West's third foul. Pacers ahead 39-34 w/ 2:14 left in the half. 28 of IND's 39 pts from West/Hibbert.
David West just picked up his 3rd foul when Haslem "fell" to the ground. Big blow for Indy. West has 18 pts
Interesting the Pacers have been able to build a lead with virtually nothing from Paul George.
Lance and LeBron talking after Lance tried to size LBJ up on the perimeter 1 on 1. They're still talking
Lance Stephenson just waved out Ian Mahinmi so he could go 1-on-1 with LeBron. What'd he get? A missed backup 3.
West now 7-of-8 from the floor, more than half (16) of Indiana's 31 points. LeBron's back in, and their lead is just 1.
Not a good sign, the Pacers couldn't get a lead with LeBron and Bosh on the bench. They're both back now. Score tied at 28
It's rare that I agreed with Jim O'Brien, but I give him this, he liked his players to jump stop. That's what Augustin should do.
Just like the regular season, the Heat don't have an answer for David West. Old school has 14 pts on 6 of 7 shooting.
Wade is guarding Sam Young, which means he can play free safety because, well, everybody knows Young doesn't exactly shoot well.
Two random thoughts: I'm feeling Norris' Waldo Faldo high top cut and Birdman was a great pickup for Miami.
>> Vogel after 1st quarter: "Our guys were a little jittery, five turnovers by the first timeout, but we've settled down since then."
Heat lead 22-21 at the end of the 1st. West has 10, LeBron with 9. Both teams shot over 50%; Pacers with 7 giveaways.
LeBron just picked up his 2nd foul. When is the last time LeBron had 2 fouls in a game, let alone in the 1st quarter, 2008?
First technical foul of the series goes to the Birdman -- Chris Andersen. He got tied up with Hansbrough. And LeBron just picked up his 2nd.
And the chatter has already started. Battier wouldn't let go of Hansbrough arm then Birdman gets involved. Tech on Birdman
Hibbert draws a charge from Battier but also takes a knee to the mid-section. Stephenson now on the bench with two fouls. Game tied at 18.
Shane Battier with his first, but certainly not last, dirty play of the game, kneeing Hibbert in the groin on a drive.
Battier gave Hibbert a karate kick on his drive. Offensive foul on Battier. Battier thought he was back at Duke driving the lane.
Hansbrough gets booed when he checked in. Heat fans didn't like Tyler's hard foul on Wade in Game 5 last season.
David West being a beast inside, as he needs to be all series with his matchup. He's got 10 of the Pacers' 16.
Pacers with 3 brutal turnovers then Hibbert commits a bad, bad foul. Oh yeah, LBJ scored, too. No way Hibbert lets LBJ outmuscle him up
Pacers with five turnovers already. Vogel said they couldn't afford 'em vs. the Heat or it'll "be a dunk show."
It took less than three minutes for TNT to reference Stephenson's choke gesture towards LeBron during last postseason. He's grown a ton.
Just like in their last meeting, LeBron is guarding Stephenson, Wade is on PG. And Hibbert is checking Haslem.
You gotta like David West. Old school. No daps to Heat players. Just play the game. That's what the summer is for.
Got my coffee and cracker jack cocktail to keep me up all night. What's your secret?

Barkley on the LeBron-Vogel non-story: "LeBron overreacted like the Heat tend to do when you don't kiss their ass."

Sorry Knicks fans, Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said the 2 best teams in the East are playing and "that is the way it should be."
In 3 reg. season meetings, Pacers held Heat to 90ppg, LeBron to an average of 21pts. And remember, Ray Allen was scoreless in 2 of 3 gms.
Players wanted it, so the Pacers are going with their gold alternate uniforms in Game 1. twitpic.com/cshm8f
Vogel: "Our No.1 goal defensively is keep them off the FT line … Giving teams FT attempts is unintelligent defensive basketball."
PG: "I would credit this series being the reason why I won the MIP award..this whole series was in the back of my mind the whole summer."

Not one ESPN or SI writer picked IND to beat MIA. Most have the defending champs in 6. I'm sure Vogel will bottle that up as motivation.
