Back-to-back 3's from G.Hill. Happy Sunday everybody.
Pacers with three straight triples, the latter two from G. Hill. That pushes them in front by six with < 5m to play.
All tied at 89 with 5:47 remaining in the game. Vogel sticking with Scola and Mahinmi for a big portion here. Hibbert/West combined for 22 p
Stuckey shakes off the final piece of rust from missing a couple of games and nails a 3. Knotted at 89
Luis Scola gets called for blocking Dirk's vision. Or something.
Dirk a baaaaaad man
Late call, but the right call. Dirk got a lot of wrist on C.J. Watson's little underhanded layup attempt
Great job by refs getting that critical 0.2 back on the clock at end of 3Q. Game would've been played under cloud of controversy otherwise.
That Dirk jumper was only the second Mavs FG in the last 6:30 of game time.
Like the way ref Tom Washington will just throw the look of death at an overly complaining coach. Always shuts em up.
When Amar'e is at the 5, the game plan should be pretty simply--attack the paint...relentlessly
Kind of amazed Carlise didn't get a tech there. Appeared to make contact with the official while arguing for an offensive goaltending call.
With 2:55 remaining in the 3rd Q, all square at 74. C.J. Miles up to 23 points. David West 10, 4, 4
West pretty much just picked his spot at the elbow and threw Parsons off of him, then hit the J. Pacers trail by just 2.
Seen it for a decade and still can’t figure out how Dirk hits his patented shot — fadeaway, off one leg, 15-feet out — and with such ease.
Story will be up shortly, but keep in mind Gathers is not coming into start -- unless he beats out Dunham or Jones. Doubt that will happen.
Richard Jefferson after picking up a foul on 3-point shooting C.J. Miles: "You got to be sh --(ing) me!"
Tyson Chandler is ouchea trying to get an NBA fine for flopping
Solomon Hill has drawn two fouls against Chandler Parsons in the first 4 minutes of the 3rd Q
The Big East will have rep in Frozen Four. Providence going for first time since '85. (League doesn't sponsor hockey, but you get my drift.)
Here is a picture of Gathers playing at Hinkle Fieldhouse in Feb. 2013. He's guarding Butler's Jackson Aldridge. http://t.co/uGsBSY5IlA
Pacers finding points in the paint so far.
G. Hill and Tyson Chandler got tangled up after possession, but HIll decided to add an extra shove. It's a double T
You know teams are having a good long-range shooting night when even the guy in the halftime contest hits the halfcourt shot.
Mavericks and Pacers shooting a combined 11-15 from 3-point land. Not expecting that to hold up in the second half.
At the half: Pacers trail the Mavs 61-55. Pacers shooting a scorching 55% and have made 6-of-9 from deep. And now...frisbee dogs.
Well, the Pacers got the start they wanted — up six after 1Q — but their elite defense has been absent. Mavs 61-55 at the break.
Chandler Pasons just threw down a splendid dunk, but Luis Scola counters by drawing a foul on Tyson Chandler.
Interesting to see Vogel counter Dallas' size of Chandler and Dirk with a front line of West and Scola.
Kid hits a half court shot off glass during timeout, gets a standing O from Quinn Buckner and J.J. Barea
The Luis Scola fastbreak!
Rudez hits two pressure packed threes to win the first quarter for Pacers. Lead 33-27. Ends streak of 10 games trailing after one.
After C.J. Miles' 4 for 4 start from 3, now Damjan Rudež has come in and knocked down two straight from top of the arc
Rudez must be ready for the spring because he is making it rain out here.
Stuckey grabbing for his wrist after hitting the deck hard. Looks like he's fine to stay in the game though.
There have been some hard falls tonight. Now Rodney Stuckey hits the ground after a foul. Stays there for a bit but gets up
Hibbert appears to be headed back to the locker room. Was bleeding. Ball boys cleaned up blood on the floor during the last timeout.
Chandler Parson ripped his tights on that fall
Strong block by D. West, good energetic start from him on both ends.
Make that 14 of first 22 for Miles. Hard to time these things. Pacers lead 22-17.
C.J. Miles is scorching hot, 5-of-6 from the floor with 14 of Indiana’s 22 points. Perfect (4-4) from deep.
Miles drills his 3rd three from the corner in front of the Pacers bench. Puts Indiana up 22-17 with 4:18 left in the 1st Q
CJ Miles taking responsibility for the better start. Had 11 of first 17.
Vogel talked abt guys not simply facilitating & being assertive. That's a good msg for West to hear. He's been overpassing a lot
David West with the long jumper with 19 seconds still on the shot clock.
Very encouraging start for the Pacers who have been slow out of the gates lately. Indiana up 12-7
David West looking like the undead, with the blood shot right eye.
Correction: Jordan Gathers is Hank Gathers' nephew. Played his high school hoops in California.
Got lucky in Indy the last two years with UK and Louisville, but today's games show its good thing NCAA dropping domes as regional sites.
Duke is obviously a great program, but there's something about Romo and Witten "adopting" the Blue Devils that is just flat weird.
Gathers is eligible next season. Fifth-year senior that missed last season due to injury. Could be top reserve off the bench. More to come.
