If I bought the Cavs anything for their garden, it would probably be a Love Fern.
HOLD ON! Twice in 3 days in “How to Lose a Guy” the Kings play the Knicks at the Garden. I discovered the ONE unrealistic part of the movie
The “Sleepless in Seattle” scene of “How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days” has to be the most meta thing to ever happen in a chick flick.
In honor of Kings at Knicks tomorrow, the Mrs. and I are watching “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.” Scott Pollard shoots FTs at the Garden!
Byron Scott: “I think we’ve had 20 Turnovers or more in our last 4 or 5 games.”
FWIW, I saw Nick Young leave Staples Center on Sunday night. He was with a member of the Lakers community relations department.
Byron Scott: “The effort, like I said, that hasn’t been an issue. The TOs, that has been an issue. Again, we had 21 TOs tonight…
Rotator cuff surgery is about a 6 month recovery period. So I'm hearing Kobe wants to research everything before going under the knife.
Byron is old school, believing deeply in withholding playing time to teach lessons. No doubt hopeful Nick will step into some of Kobe void.
Kobe is the type to exhaust all options before a decision and I'm told that's what he's doing now. So far, everyone has recommended surgery
Kobe has an appointment with Dr. ElAttrache tomorrow. After that we may or may not have an update on whether he's decided to undergo surgery
Lin gave a stock answer about doing the best he can whether he plays zero, 10 or 40 minutes, but admitted he's thankful he didn't sit again.
Lin not only got to play, he got to run a lot of pick and roll--obviously more his style. Byron said he wants Jeremy to be "consistent."
Young ditched reporters after playing just nine minutes. So no explanation for his lackadasical play
Did not cover game tonight. But Nick Young, apparently, left without speaking to reporters? What an absurd trend.
BScott on Young; "It looked to me like he didn’t want to be here. Thats how I looked at it."
Nick Young left without speaking to us. Not good.
Jeremy Lin on not playing last game: “I’m thankful for playing. A DNP will change your perspective on things.”
Ed Davis on Jordan Clarkson starting: “He’s been handling it well.”
Byron said Nick was asked a question at halftime about defensive assignment and responded in a way that Byron didn't like.
Byron on Nick Young playing only nine minutes: "Looked to me, to be honest, like he didn't want to be there."
Byron Scott: “The starting five I have right I’m going to keep for a while.”
Byron Scott on Nick Young: “It looked to me that he didn’t want to be here.”
Lakers drop their eighth consecutive game, lose to Rockets, 99-87.
Final: Rockets 99, Lakers 87. Boozer had 18 and 11 off the bench, Lin 14 (10 FT's) and 6, Ellington 13 and 5. Harden had 37/8/5.
All smiles, Dwight chants along to "Howard sucks" chant from Lakers fans
Lakers fans uncork a "Howard Sucks" chant. He's on the Rockets' bench in a light blue suit, out with a sprained ankle.
Harden checks out with 37 points, 8 boards and 5 assists with 6 turnovers and 2 steals.
Scratch that. 37 points for James Harden. Lakers have NO answer for the player likely to replace Kobe as the West All-Star starter.
Tarik Black has been moving pretty well on that ankle. We'll see if he gets additional PT over the next several games.
Rockets fans right behind me shouting “M-V-P… M-V-P” for James Harden. 32 points for the Rockets SG.
Ed Davis has played well in the paint tonight, up to 13 rebounds with his 6 points, block and steal.
It’s hard enough to split defenders as it is, much less when the screener is wedged between them. AK
A run-stopping 3 from Corey Brewer cuts that LAL push a bit, Houston back up 14 with 4:34 to play. HOU has hit 13 3's, LAL only 1.
Lakers making a run at the Rockets, closing gap to 11 pts. Rockets had led by 25.
Players don't tank and the Lakers were competitive for the most part, but this new lineup change that will last 15-20 games? Nope.
Around consecutive missed 3's from Harden, Black got a layup and Lin 2 FT's to make it a 16-2 run. Rockets lead down to 11.
Midway through 4, Lakers are on a 14-2 run and only trail by 12.
Look who's in the doghouse now: Nick Young. He's played all of nine minutes.
Best thing about a trip to Phoenix is Oregano's in Tempe. http://t.co/l25oJORKmS
I thought last season was bad, but this season is on a whole new level.
Sure enough, McHale has seen enough from his bench and comes back with the starters and Brewer for Ariza, his team up 15 with 6:56 left.
LAL have used a 12-2 run to get within 15 points at 89-74. We may see how much the lead has to be trimmed for Harden to return.
Black, of course, was waived by the Rockets, allowing LAL to claim him.
Rookie Tarik Black, a question mark to play with a sprained ankle from last week, checks in at the 7:15 mark for Boozer (18 and 11).
LOSING IS WINNING.
NICK YOUNG HAS ZERO POINTS AND HAS ONLY PLAYED NINE MINUTES. TANK YOU, BYRON.
Swaggy D, as in “Doghouse?” Nick Young hasn’t played yet in the second half. AK
Boozer, for one, has a nice game going, with 18 points and 10 boards in his 19 minutes (9 for 12 FG's) plus 2 assists. HOU up 87-67.
I waited until the Lakers were mathematically out of the playoffs to tweet about tanking last season, but I'm starting early. My goodness.
Nick Young didn't play in the 3rd Q and remains on the bench to start the 4th. Ellington's in with Lin in the backcourt.
Rockets lead 80-60 after 3 Q's, Harden going for 32 points to lead HOU. LAL got 16 off the bench from Boozer, 10 and 7 from Hill.
At the end of 3, Lakers trail by a lot.
WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME, LAKERS? THIS IS SO BAD.
Lakers are struggling to score and their best scorer (Nick Young) has only played eight minutes. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.
Nick Young has played the least amount of minutes for the Lakers so far with 9. Closest to him is Ed Davis with 10.
LAL continue to trail, 71-51, as the most of the subs (Nick Young still on the bench) check in with 3:35 left in the 3rd. Harden's up to 28.
Back to reality. Lakers are down 20.
Not that many teams make it back to the Finals after losing the previous season, but the 2009 Lakers were incredible from start to finish.
Trevor Ariza with the free throws and also, I miss that 2009 Lakers team. http://t.co/TEV9AcKsaS
Rockets start the second half on an 8-2 run and Lakers trail by 19.
In a time where most players don't exactly have a post game, Donatas Motiejunas has a decent one and he is only 24.
Lakers down, 52-36 at the half. Harden with 20 first half points. Boozer leads Lakers with 10
James Harden has 20 points in the first half. The Lakers have 36. I won't completely rule out Harden catching them in the third quarter.
