Spurs still looking for that beautiful game they played in the playoffs last season. No need for it tonight. Pop: "It wasn't a fair fight."
Popovich: "it wasn't a fair fight."
That's a career-high 20 points for Anthony Bennett
LaVine is just frantic out there. Kid needs to take a deep breath. Happens to lots of rooks
Wiggins has 9 of his 14 points here in 3rd qtr, but Wolves trail Spurs 81-59
Nine straight for Wiggins. Asserting himself now.
Here comes your daily Wiggins 3rd quarter flurry
Muhammad (1-7, 1 reb) finding the going against Diaw, Leonard slightly tougher than Travis Wear.
Spurs G Cory Joseph diagnosed with ankle sprain at halftime, will not return
Cory Joseph will not return with a sore left ankle. Spurs short-handed at PG.
Spurs 59, Wolves 48 at the half. Parker has 23 already. Mo has 15 for Wolves
less than 3 minutes to go in the first half and Tim Duncan just had his first shot of the game.
13-0 run for the Spurs, who are running away with this one. 54-37
Tony Parker w/ 17 so far. Spurs lead 41-37 with 7 minutes left in 1st half
Parker is devouring the Wolves on dribble penetration.
Spurs quickly open 36-30 lead, Flip takes a timeout
Zach for Mo here a minute into 2nd qtr. Spurs lead 31-30
During timeout, Ricky Rubio is sitting on the bench in the huddle and talking to players and listening to Flip. That's something right there
From 6-2 down, Spurs now lead 10-6 early here at TC
Will be interesting to see how Wiggins responds tonight with Kawhi checking him. Won't be a fun night at the office for him
Flip has switched Brewer on to Parker and Mo on to Danny Green
What's the final margin tonight?
Spurs are starting Kawhi, Duncan, Diaw, Parker, Green vs. Wolves' Mo, Brewer, Wiggins, Dieng and Shabazz
Flip said his Golden Valley CC team might have been older than the one the Wolves will field tonight
Flip's parting words to media before game: "One of these days I’m going to come bring good news."
Knicks bailed out Wolves by matching up to MIN instead of dictating matchups. I might expect Pop to try a different approach
Flip says he's emulating Pop tonight by sitting 4 of his starters. Doubt Wolves get fined though
Flip said Wolves would have to pick 3 guys who can't play for next 10 days to apply for roster exception. Isn't willing to do so w/ Pek yet
Flip tonight vs. Spurs: "We have great respect for Pop. I'm emulating Pop. I'm sitting my four guys."
Splitter, Mills and Bonner all out for Spurs tonight, btw
Brewer starting at 2 tonight in Martin's place. Will lean more on Chase Budinger as well
Rule is you need 3 guys out at least 10 days to get injury exception, Flip said
Flip says they're waiting to see on Pek. If it's determined he will miss another 10 days, wolves can add a player to help out
Flip says Corey will start for Martin, Bud will come off bench at both 2 and 3 spots
Game night in Minneapolis: The Big Fundamental http://t.co/smrYCN9Pow
Pekovic will be evaluated again early next week. If outlook for him is more long-term recovery, wolves could get a roster exception
Let's try this again: Spurs F Matt Bonner is out tonight, btw, with a virus that seems to be going around the NBA these days
Either that or I reverted back to about 1990 and Sacramento with my reference to "Anthony Bonner." Shows my age, I guess
Sorry, that was supposed to be Matt Bonner for the Spurs. I think I put my two stretch 4s together from tonight's game
Adrian Peterson's hearing will be Dec. 2. Interesting that Goodell is not hearing the appeal himself.
When asked the other night about an injury exemption to sign a player, Flip said, "They don't hand those things out like candy."
If Pek diagnosis is longer term, there's a chance Wolves could get emergency permission to add a player w/out making a roster move
So what do Wolves do now? Start Brewer at the 2? Any other options?
Martin scored 48 points the night he broke the other (non-shooting) wrist in 2009, then scored 29 next game before a fracture was diagnosed
Wolves still unsure if Martin will need surgery on his wrist. Will be evaluated over the next few days.
And how about the Knicks getting torched by a guy with a broken wrist?
Props to Martin, who finished the final 3 1/2 quarters with the injury and scored 37 points.
Team says Martin fractured his wrist midway through Wednesday's first quarter. He went on to score 37, you might remember
This team, I tell ya ...
Oh boy: Wolves announce Kevin Martin fractured his wrist Wednesday vs. Knicks. He's now out indefinitely too
Now Kevin Martin has a fractured wrist
Kings headed here now 7-5 after beating Chi. I remember getting quite an argument here last yr when I called them further ahead than Wolves
