You also can't amnesty a player that's already been amnestied as well. Travis Outlaw was amnestied by the Nets.

Teams can only amnesty players under contract signed during the old CBA. Salmons is the only man eligible on the Kings' current roster.

Also for those clamoring that the Kings amnesty either Thornton, Hayes or Outlaw - that's not possible. All were signed under new CBA.

I'm one of the few who DON'T consider Salmons' contract an albatross...just b/c it can be amnestied and he's on a deescalating contract.

Let me rephrase the Salmons tweet...

FWIW, the #SacKings will be roughly $15 mil under the salary cap if they keep the No. 7 pick. Could be $22 mil under if they amnesty Salmons
