Blame the Lamond Murray trade (of all things) for some of that. With no 2007 pick, Raptors went for it right away and overachieved
Colangelo was never able to accurately read where the Raptors were as a franchise and how to get where they needed to go
Interesting: Saints and Pellies name Doug Tatum, ex-sports editor of Times-Picayune, as executive director of digital media.
With Colangelo situation coming to a resolution the GM search remains on-going. Role of search firm way overblown; Leiweke in lead role.
I find the machinations of MLSE to be interesting. Yes: interesting.
Latest on Raptors and Colangelo: all signs point to a new role for him with MLSE being finalized and announced Tuesday morning.
Re: Ujiri. Not saying he made Denver that way, they always played that way. Point was very different than Casey style.
Fans are significantly overestimating how damaged Colangelo’s reputation is in NBA circles. He’ll get another GM job.
I wonder how happy Colangelo is with this solution. Stripping him of basketball decision making is significant, but he’s still employed, so…
Ujiri built ultra-fast, offensive group in Denver. Defence wasn't priority. Running was. Not a fit with Dwane Casey in the slightest
As I speculated earlier on @fan590, reports from Yahoo & others seem to confirm colangelo will stay on w/ team but search for new GM is on
One thing for sure: Masai Ujiri is going to get paid.
Now all Raps have to hope is that their dollars are worth more to Ujiri than loyalty to the org that gave him his big shot.
On corporate side, Colangelo has built strong MLSE ties with Canada Basketball, made sure Raptors active with charities, etc.
BC staying on in a corporate/advisory role would probably make it easier for Ujiri to take his job and not feel like he’s holding the knife
But now seems they were trying to find a way for him to gracefully stay on somehow.
Now Tim Leiweke's "still working on it" comment to me other day about BC is making more sense. I thought they were working on his exit ...
If this is the case it would be something Larry Tanenbaum would have pushed for /2
Oh Raptors, the fun and intrigue never stop.
TPB till I fall asleep... Lol
My phone will be on all day. Could be a busy one...or not.
There is a human element to all of this (especially w/ a 2-time Exec of the Yr & given the roots of the Colangelo name in NBA+USABB history)
We don't even know what 'time' a decision or announcement could come today -- IF it comes. I'll give TOR credit for that; kept leaks tight
Pure THEORY on my part: I wonder if the Raps decision on Colangelo has dragged this long cause he may stay on in some capactiy - w/ a new GM
Jays recall Anthony Gose from Triple A Buffalo where he is hitting .227
Welp, @j_owens13 Shawshank Redemption just started on IFC... Thought you should know.

Social media accounts are personal extensions of their creators, incase you were wondering why ppl get upset when you unfollow/defriend them
Trials are unavoidable. Rain falls on the just and the unjust!
Maturity is a product of trials!
Spurs have historical habit of making me look silly, but Gasol/Z-Bo pairing should be too much. Plus old Spurs will be tired by gms 4-7

Hibbert and Bosh (again) in the Eastern Conference Finals
What a horrendous shot / decision by Copeland.
JR Smith is talented -- Just in case you forgot.
Last time we were this excited about a "Lance" in sports...we left disappointed. Tonight, I think folks (especially in Indy) will be happy
Seeing ESPN's outstanding 9:79 again; who is this mealy-mouthed fibber who's fabricating excuses for Carl Lewis?????
Strangest thing I have heard all week is Presti saying that Perkins still has value for OKC and it has been a weird week in Toronto
I’m enjoying all of this Raps stuff. There really isn’t anything to dig into and analyze yet, but the path to get there has been fascinating
And I jinxed TFC. 1-0 Columbus
Both teams have had chances to score in the opening half, but couldn't convert. Two posts for Crew, team has been shut out in 2 straight.
It's a beautiful day for once for a TFC game. Some interesting lineup tinkering today for those soccer inclined following me.
All I can report regarding the Raptors and Bryan Colangelo, is there will be a resolution "soon".
Anyway, Ujiri can't lose in this situation. Drives up price quite a bit either way.
Also, Colangelo staying in org. angle makes sense if Ujiri came. Hard to see him pushing out guy who gave him his shot
Leiweke has long history with Denver. Helped move Avs there. Knows owner Stan Kroenke well Still, not sure why Kroenke would let Ujiri leave
Oh, and one more thought — hiring a head-hunting firm is exactly the type of move previous iterations of MLSE would have made.
Errr — reigning.
That is to say: past success guarantees nothing. Back to familial duty!
Before getting too excited about potential of getting Ujiri, remember what happened last time Raps landed reining Executive of the Year.

"They never miss you until dead or you gone " good night y'all!! Ill be woke in 6hrs got an early morning date at raven claw
Crazy how much support this city gives to the grizzlies
All signs point to Bryan Colangelo being in his final days with the Raptors. Story should be up soon.
Tim Leiweke says "no comment" on Colangelo situation.
Finally got this phone fixed and back !! Smh whole week
And if indeed MLSE is again going the search committee route, I hope they have better luck than they did under Peddie.
Sun can confirm Monday Colangelo deadline. Earlier in day some in organization weren't aware of it.
Logic says Bryan Colangelo set a deadline on Toronto either picking up option or not. Other way around doesn't make sense.
That deal had incentives for the third year based on winning games.
Exactly two years ago, Bryan Colangelo agreed in principle to a contract extension for two years, with a team option for the third.
Shane Larkin's 44 inch vertical is pretty insanse. Remember his dad making some crazy jumping catches for the Reds
What is it about mayors? Lots of crazy examples across NA. Marion Berry; dude in Detroit. Ford. Every town in Florida probably ....
