HoopsHype Toronto Raptors twitter
Kyle Lowry was getting stretched out in room instead of shooting around with Raptors. Take of that what you will.
Forget trade deadline, I’m pondering avatar change. Like this one, except I haven’t had that much hair in years: http://t.co/Uk2R5x5HLy
We're drinking every time Jeff O'Neill says, "He's a pro," right?
Wins over LAC-SA-WAS-ATL followed by losses to HOU-NOLA-DAL-GS-NY show how quickly things can change, pro/con. Let's see vs PHI-CLE-CHA-OKC
By this time next week the raps will have played philly, Clev, Char and okc. I'll be interested in seeing what streak they're on by then
Whiplash, wow. Phenomenal.
The Leafs and Raptors are tanking at the same time
Amazing to think how many vastly different stylistically, but still excellent Roots albums there are. Truly unique band. End of diversion...
Rockets-Cavs was some playoff-level stuff. Such fun. I love Smarch.
Twitter is amazing. Dwyane Wade’s wife is complaining about calls?
In Philly so of course I’m listening to my second favourite Roots album, Illadelph Halflife. Some don’t think it holds up … Not I.
Behold, a weird stat: DeMar DeRozan has averaged 23.8 points on 48%/58TS% on Sundays this year, just 13.3 on 30%/37% on Mondays.
LRT: The Kings' mascot is named Slamson. <3
Late night Philly...unfiltered http://t.co/TvjuzeKB96
Off day for the Raps on Sun. Gotta get right by Monday. Get back on track vs Philly. 17-16 over last 33. Time to refocus for last 6 wks
Q1: a bit heavy on "radio" style. Engrained habits! Q2 better. Q3/Q4: all TV. I go to bed happy/confident/thankful. Come back now Matty D!
DeRozan was 1-for-10 on contested field goal attempts.
Bulls and Raptors now tied for second, Cavs a half game back. Big Toronto-Cleveland meeting on Wednesday.
The word in the Raptors room was Matt Devlin will be fine.
The answer to who was just “being aggressive and (doing) what I do” would be Andrea Bargnani, of course.
Who said it? “I am being aggressive and do what I do?"
Anyway, they will figure it out, or they won’t. Either way, this team will look a lot different next season and beyond that.
Weird how Casey says some players were taking threes that shouldn’t (read Amir and James Johnson) but never says DeRozan is taking bad shots
Casey said he won’t get on DeRozan for missed dunk. Said his confidence lacking, needs support, says a lot of it is mental.
DeRozan keeps repeating that once things turn around, Raptors will be “a scary sight.” As opposed to just being a scary sight currently.
Patterson says Raptors have to get back to where they were earlier: “moving, sharing the ball (Lou, Lowry, DeRozan playing like stars)"
They've been through rough patches but DeRozan said this one feels different. "We know this is not us at all", says it feels like "bad luck"
Amir: We’re still good I told DeMar, it's been worse… Just because we go on a little losing streak, it doesn't mean we lose our confidence"
DeMar: "It sucks. It feels like crap, honestly, to be on a losing streak like this, coming here & losing. But we've got to fight through it"
Casey on DeMar: "He needs that more than criticism. He needs a pat on the back, an arm around him more so than he needs a foot in the butt"
Casey on DeRozan's missed 360 dunk in transition: "It wasn't advised, no. You don't want that to happen at all. And he knows better"
Raptors frustrated, but say they have been through worse. Need to find themselves, they say. Casey said they have to say “no more."
Casey: "Its an 82-game season, we're still in the playoff hunt but we've got to put our foot down & say no more & get this malaise stopped"
Thank you for all of the tweets/love. Much appreciated! I'll respond to them all soon. For now, let's get my man Matty D. back for Monday!
Raptors lose their 5th straight game, a season-most, to the league-worst 12-46 Knicks. Rock. Bottom.
Langston Galloway with the actual dagger. Yet again, Vasquez can’t keep his man in front of him … kickout for three. Rinse and repeat.
Langston Galloway dagger. Never mind.
Knicks led by 12 less than 5 mins ago. Pat's put-back cuts Raps deficit to 2 w/ 33.2s left. This would be ugly but Raps desperately need it
Barge was born for moments like these ...
To be clear, Raps are 25-12 with DeRozan, 12-9 without. They're not better without him, they need to get him right, somehow.
Of course Andrea Bargnani drops the dagger.
DeRozan gets beat off the dribble, JV comes over to help, gets called for his 6th foul and that'll end his night. Pat in for him.
Valanciunas fouls out with 3:11 remaining. Raptors down six.
Back-to-back Vasquez 3-balls cuts the Knicks 12-point lead in half. 3:29 to go.
Plan was to sit Lowry out in Philly on Monday. Even w/ eye on playoffs, have to wonder if that plan will be amended after this embarrassment
Get well soon, Kyle Lowry.
The Raptors played this whole game like they never believed they could lose. Well...
Valanciunas and DeRozan back to try to prevent Knicks from closing within 24.5 games of the Raptors.
Through 19 minutes of action JV had attempted 1 shot. He's taken 5 in 4 minutes since. Keep feeding him until Knicks/fouls take him out
I have no idea what Norm Macdonald is talking about, but his Twitter stories are fantastic.
JV picks up his 5th foul early in the 4th Q. Casey leaving him in. He's been the Raps offence for most of the last 5 minutes
Feed Valanciunas the rest of the way. Look at who he is going up against. Makes sense, no?
Only 2 of the other 8 Raptors to play tonight (Ross, Hansbrough) have attempted fewer shots than Valanciunas, who is 3-for-4 in 19 minutes
On a night in which DeMar DeRozan has missed an open dunk, Knicks fan banks in a $10K halfcourt shot. Of course.
Biggest cheer of the season at MSG perhaps? Dude hits half-court shot for $10,010
Might be wrong here, but there are some fans with a Spanish flag yelling “Calderon” every time Greivis Vasquez has the ball. Umm ...
Greivis and Lou have given the Raps a spark midway through the 2nd Q. 9-0 run, including 7 points from Vasquez. Toronto leads by 1
Signs of life from Lou Williams and the Raptors' bench. Toronto, down 10 earlier in the Q, is now within 3
Raptors starters have 2 assists after 12 minutes tonight after recording 1 in 48 last night, so there's that.
Good news: 15 pts & 32% shooting is a definite improvement on last night's disastrous 1st Q. Bad news: Raps trail by 7 to worst team in NBA
