Warriors up 32 points. Raptors have scored 33 points.
Not even sure if Rudy Gay hogged the ball as much as DeRozan is right now. This is something to see.
In good Raptors news, Bebe is wearing a gold tight with a sharp royal blue blazer.
Raps down 54-31 at the half. It feels like the deficit is double that. Raps shooting 24.3%. Warriors shooting 40% from field.
Warriors 54, Raptors 31. Feel free to start your other Friday night plans early.
Two in a row for DeRozan!
DeRozan's first FG comes with 90 seconds remaining the first half. He's now 1-for-10
Don’t forget excessive celebration by Warriors in Oakland earlier this year royally pissed off Raptors … but no real response tonight.
DeRozan and Lowry are a combined 1-for-15 from the field. Ross and Amir 5-for-9, everybody else 2-for-24!
Ross tried to take on Green, got ball poked away from him. Collected it, did the same thing, missed contested 19-footer. Sure.
Lowry is back in the game. No word on what caused his brief locker room visit.
Should add, Ross breaking out of his funk would be best case scenario for Raps, restoring normalcy to rotation thats been in flux for months
Terrence Ross has as many field goals (3) as his teammates, because, of course.
It's as if the Raptors didn't have enough of Marreese Speights killing them in Oakland. Can't let that guy shoot.
Nothing against Jalen, Muggsy, etc. but this MoPete tribute is actually well-deserved.
Raps shot 5.3% from field in first quarter, a franchise low.
The Raptors scored a bucket, and Steve Kerr just called a full timeout. Relatively, that makes sense.
On a positive note, JJ is still hot. He's 1-for-1. Everyone else still searching.
The Warriors shot 35%, and the Raptors trail by 16. That takes some effort.
Kerr pre-game: "The key to us is how we defend, but we haven't been doing it well lately.” Think they figured it out, Steve.
Where is @smithraps when I need to know if that was the ugliest 12 minutes of basketball played by the Raptors? I say yes.
The previous worst first quarter for Raps this season was 14 points done twice.
Warriors had Raptors well scouted. White board pre-game said they easily revert to 1-on-1 and said DeRozan “rarely passes."
Raps finish the quarter 1-for-19. I mean the Warriors are good defensively, but that's ridiculous. Raps down 27-11.
That GV miss from three was easily the Raptors best look as their 1-of-19 first quarter comes to a close. Unbelievable.
Raptors first-quarter shooting percentage: 5.3%. FIVE POINT THREE! Raps go 1-for-19, turn the ball over 6 times and trail Warriors by 16
Dubs up 27-11 after a quarter. Raps started missing open shots instead of contested ones at end of quarter, so that's progress!
Raptors make one field goal, ONE, in first quarter. Shoot 1-for-19, trail only 27-11. Has to be franchise-worst quarter.
The Raptors have one field goal. It was a contested James Johnson 16-footer.
Raps a tidy of 1/15 here with a 1:30 left in the first .... about 14 of those shots have been contested.
Talk about a contrast, Raptors facing NBA’s best team tonight and its worst tomorrow in Knicks.
Lowry to the locker room.
Raps now shooting a whopping 7.1% (1-for-14). Lowry/DeRozan update: 0-for-11. Warriors lead is 17. Raps stuck on 5 pts w/ 2:39 left in 1st
Kyle just headed to the locker room with the doctors and some of the training staff in tow.
On white board in Warriors room pre-game: "Control DeRozan's catch-shoot game. He rarely passes" "Much of what they do reverts to 1 on 1"
Seriously ... can someone with a PVR tell me how many passes before that Klay Thompson 3 please?
DeMar's plan seems to be to dribble wildly into coverage and hope to get a call. He is not getting a call and is 0/6.
Nobody took out the trash.
DeRozan and Lowry are 0-for-9. The team is 1-for-12. At least three of DeRozan's misses have been in paint.
Raptors start 1-for-12, DeRozan/Lowry 0-for-9. Warriors lead 14-5 just over 7 minutes in
First playing of 6 Man at ACC I believe, but LouWill not in the game yet.
The purple jerseys are cursed
New lineup, but bad start from Raptors against an angry Warriors team that got drilled by Cleveland last night. Dubs playing 4th in 5 nights
Although this lineup could work, early returns are not good, as expected. They've only played 24 mins together & first start comes vs GSW
Raptors going out of their way to prove that this 'pass the ball thing' is NOT over-rated. Just dreadful basketball.
Early stages: Raptors offence looks wretched.
Warriors first 8 points: 2 FTs, 3 open lay-ups (2 for Steph). Meanwhile, DeRozan/Lowry have started 0-for-4. Raps down 6 early
8-2 Warriors early. Lowry displeased with the officiating.
For two seasons, two bad ones, but two nonetheless, post-Bosh, Amir Johnson was Toronto’s best all-around player.
When healthy, Amir is Toronto’s best defender and screen setter by miles and miles and miles. But that’s a big caveat.
No Northern Touch for throwback intros tonight. Instead, Ante Up from M.O.P.
Unfortunately, Amir has too many miles on his body to be an effective starter. Can still play similar minutes off bench and last longer.
This is the 9th different starting lineup Raps have used this season. They used 10 last year, tied for fewest in team history (82gm season)
Tonights starters (Lowry/DeRozan/JJ/Pat/JV) have played 24mins together, outscoring opponents 58-31 for the Raps highest NetRtg (min 20mins)
The People's Lineup is now the Raptors' starting 5. What a world.
Patrick Patterson replaces Amir Johnson in tonight's starting lineup. Should help mitigate some of their spacing concerns, keep Amir fresh
Called for Patterson for Amir and Johnson for Ross or Vasquez long ago. Nice to see the Raptors finally trying it.
Patrick Patterson gets the start over Amir Johnson tonight.
That's crappy news for Saunders, and good news for the organization. And so continues professional sports.
The reality is there's no lineup solution, although I'm guessing PP instead of Amir would help. Ross's struggles have been a killer.
Casey said certain teams help off James Johnson, some sag off Amir, some off JV. I say that means it's a problematic lineup.
No Iguodala for the Warriors tonight. He's healthy, just getting some rest because of a 4-in-5 stretch.
Casey: "I think it came out worse than what it really is. Kyle knows who he is. DeMar knows who he is. They're not trash, they know that"
Oddly, while Steph is averaging 28.5 points in Toronto (highest vs any team on the road), Klay averages 12.0 (lowest vs any team on road)
Raps bench has only been outscored 13 times in 57 gms, including 3 straight for 1st time this season (outscored 145-79 over that stretch)
DeRozan and Lowry over 3-game losing streak: 31-97 (32%) FG, 3-25 (12%) 3P, 30 FTA, 23 assists/18 turnovers
We the Fourth? Maybe not. Raptors were tops in 4thQ pt differential last year (+195), they're 15th this season (-8), 29th since Jan 1 (-74)
